as people who have used the internet, no doubt you are all fully aware of memes. you may find them lol worthy at first and annoying later, or just plain stupid from the get go.

what's your favorite meme?
what's your least favorite meme?

personally, i'm a huge fan of extreme advertising. extreme advertising consists of taking something ordinary, and talking about it like a billy mays infomercial. usually with excessive cursing, all caps lock, and demonstrating complete awe at the most ordinary.

-while the Pretty Cool Guy meme is just... nothing. Whenever I see someone use it, it's just empty. It adds almost nothing to what we know about the person. =| Well, it isn't too bad, but I can't think of the meme I like the worst. I ma get back on that.

Oh, and if ''Firis jsut came'' was a meme, That would be my favorite one, since I actually was there. Well, not in the chat while it happened, but still...

I love extreme advertising as well. And you've gotta love the Old Spice Man. Besides those and a few others, I'm not a huge fan of memes - they're funny the first few times you hear them, but they become very worn down very quickly.

Pretty Cool Guy is one of my favorites, but I'd have to say that Extreme Advertising is the best.

Least favorite is Milhouse

that's the point of it. the original pretty cool guy meme is a fantastic trolling technique as well as a meme.
I.E. the original pretty cool guy post was
"I think Halo is a pretty cool guy. eh kills aleins and doesnt afraid of anything."

part of the beauty of such an obviously short sighted statement is if you were to say it on, say, the bungie.net boards you would get boatloads of people who are not meme-acquainted saying things like "his name isn't halo it's the master chief".
it's a great tool for getting a predictable reaction which you can use to escalate the readers obvious and inevitable irritation, even if the meme isn't terribly funny by its self in most cases.

also, i'd like to add that my least favorite meme is candlejack. while it may have something to it initially, it's overused by the 3rd view.

My favorite non-internet meme would have to be "Me So Horny" from the Full Metal Jacket film.

Uhm, I mean, it does nothing. It doesn't even annoy me. To me, the text has about 2% meaning which consist of 1% thread contribution and 1% annoyance. The other 98% is stuff ... nothing. Well, that's just how I see it.

Yeah, lol. 1% contradiction... It annoys me 1%, which is such a low number, that it can be rounded down to zero, if I'm talking in general, and thus say it diesn'' annoy me.

I know of memes, and do like some. However, there are memes that're being overused way too much. Prime examples of these could be Boxxy and Paedobear. It gets to the point where you're urged to block the image every time you come across it.

My favourite - and now less-used one - would be Konata.
