Okay, first of all, please don't shoot me :L. I've been quite tempted for a while now to give World of Warcraft a try, because i've heard a ton of good things about it, but I could do with some advice first.
There are a few things putting me off:
1. The subscription. I've never played a subscription-based game, and to be honest, I don't much like the thought of having to continually pay to be able to play it.
2. The addiction factor. From what i've heard, the game is SUPER addictive, and although i'm off school for Summer now, I don't want to become a hermit through playing this game :L.
The thing that's enticing me though is a deal I saw on the Game website; it was offering something called the World of Warcraft Battlechest (which includes WoW, the WoW Strategy Guide, The Burning Crusade Expansion Pack, and The Burning Crusade Strategy Guide) for £7.99, and because I have a bunch of Game Reward Points saved up, I can get all of it for £4.50. Seems like a pretty good deal to me.
I've played MMORPGs before, I used to be pretty addicted to Runescape and am a semi-frequent Lord of the Rings Online player, so I have a slight idea of what i'm in for if I decide to go ahead and get it. I'm also in the middle of downloading the Starter Edition, so I can try it out before making a decision.
So, any suggestions? Does anyone here play it, and if so, what do you think? Thanks!
