Do what I did:

When you become king, don't progress through with the stuff, keep it at 365 days until the attack. Buy as much property and business as you can, raise all taxes to the highest. When you are about to go to sleep, put your character somewhere safe where he/she won't be bothered and then go to sleep. When you wake up bam, millions of gold will be waiting for you.

Yes, it's five million, not six. It is easy to get though if you own a good amount of property. Oh, and that thing at the top isn't a gold key. It's the key that allows you to open the chest at the bottom of your mountains of gold once you decide to get rid of it all.
