So I was walking the dog on Sunday night when I heard some fireworks. Seemed odd that they'd wait this long after New Years to set them off, odder they'd be doing it in that kind of cold, and odder still they'd do it in the uppity boring neighborhood I now live in.
I was right, it was too odd.

According to a 911 call, a male neighbor – who was visiting Camille Reynolds when Dennis Reynolds arrived – said Reynolds sneaked into the house and had a rifle. The neighbor jumped from a second-floor balcony of the house and ran to another neighbor’s home to call 911.
Just as ##### police arrived, gunshots rang out from the house, neighbors said.
Dennis Reynolds, 56, barricaded himself inside, refusing to surrender.

A SWAT standoff ensued.
When tear gas was fired into the home about 11 p.m., Reynolds shot himself in the face, said ##### police Capt. Tim Messer. When police went inside, they found Camille Reynolds, 50, dead.

Dennis Reynolds was taken to University Hospital, released Monday morning and booked into the Hamilton County Justice Center. Police charged him with one count of murder. He is to be arraigned Tuesday.

those eleven or so banging sounds i heard were a guy shooting his wife, and himself. should i be scarred for life?
i wasn't the first time i was within blocks and earshot of a murder scene. the other time was a guy resisting a mugger in Philadelphia while i was stuck at a red light just around the corner. all my friends were scarred, but not me. there must be something wrong with me. :|

the motive is unknown so far. they'd been separated for a year...my guess is he just snapped. if it was a surprise that she was with someone then he wouldn't have shown up armed. i think the neighbor was there merely for support... he wouldn't have jumped down two stories unless he knew that **** was about to go down.

:P I kid. Anyway, I'd not be scarred per se, but I'd certainley feel a bit weird for a bit afterwards.
 
You shouldn't feel scarred or let it get to you, you thought it was fireworks.

Here's a saying that applies....sort of.
We have enough gun control. What we need is idiot control.

Also, don't worry if you aren't scarred, it just means you have no soul...

Im sure its normal what youre going through, some people are easily rattled and some arent.

Hey, I enjoy buying all the guns I want, but not all of america has such loose gun laws. Places like califonia you have to have a permit to own a handgun. Disgusting.

Precisely, that is why gun control laws are pointless. People are always going to have ways to kill each other, and criminals will always be able to get guns. I can go to houston and buy a full auto M16 right now if I wanted, but I prefer to have legal fire arms.

I've been saying this for years, if they(US) ban guns outright they'll only be taking them away from law-abiding citizens, the criminals will ALWAYS find a method.

If your being mugged you would be an idiot to try and pull a gun on someone who already has a gun trained on you, you are relying on you drawing, aiming and firing before he merely fires. No guns? It is hand to hand, much more fair, plus I find the longer range our weaponry is the more disgusting fighting becomes, we no longer have formal wars, and missles and bombs make wars pointless if you don't have the best tech, no skill in fighting anymore.

Does it? I just said I'm a 40 minute drive and a relatively low price away from a very illegal weapon. Criminals have no difficulty getting guns, legal or otherwise, its what they do, BREAK THE LAW.
