But that's my point, it's so similar and they even admit to making it to piggyback the success of the film they're mimicking, so why haven't they been shut down?
 
Probably because The Asylum don't really make big enough bucks to make it worth suing them. All their movies are straight-to-dvd and you don't see any TV commercial or anything. Most of the people behind the "real" movies probably don't even know about "mockbusters".

From what I have read, they often just break even against production costs with their movies.
 
Not true, their last few movies have had commercials and get special playing times on my favorite channel: SyFy.
 
Said channel is known to accept stuff other stations won't touch with a ten-foot clown pole though...
 
Which is why they are amazing.

SyFy can't do movies. They just can't. It's a proven fact.

They really should just stick with TV shows.
 
Rex Azteca (or was is Tyrannosaurus Azteca) was a totally badass movie. Saw it last week.

Liking something better than Mythbusters is fine. But in that previous post you made it sound like Mythbusters is not that great. =| 'It's kind if entertaining, but... really?' sounds pretty lame.

I meant that there are better shows on TV than that.
 
so... this movie was on netflix. i watched it and it was pretty much that clip on repeat for 90 minutes...but with a hot scientist chick and a russian for most of it.
