AMERICAAAA f*ck no!

I jsut came.

That ought to stop all these obnoxious internet Americans (not accusing anyone on here of that, but you know the type) from claiming how USA is totally number one and everything... no we just have to stop the Kiwis doing the same thing.

Yeah I think I can arguably say that America was the crown of the 19th century. Stepping into the new millennium however we, along with many other so called greats, namely the European countries, have completely dropped the ball , more by design it would seem then true peril. While countries like China, India, Israel are on their way up. The game has changed, but I remain optimistic about the future.

I don't know any of my fellow Americans that actually believes this place is numero uno. Aside from people that never read anything and those patriotic quacks that truly believe this is the land of opportunity, that everyone has the free right to do anything they want.

Land of hypocrisy really.

Neither do I. It might just have to do with my geographic location though. Maybe more people might think that way in more conservative and closed-minded areas of the country.

Anyway, I've seen this video before, and that guy talks about a lot of the things I believe anyway, though I'm not sure I agree with the second half of his speech when he says the U.S. used to be the greatest country in the world. I do believe there was a time when the U.S. wasn't as horrible as it is today, but I'm just not sure about it being number one. Basically, once the industrial revolution hit, America's capitalistic nature started shoving the country down the toilet, and now, it's causing our country to destroy the god damn world so that the rich people at the top can maintain their cushy lifestyle of power and luxury. The United States is not the best country in the world; it's the worst.

Also, I hate that he used the term "defense spending". The United States Department of Defense actually used to be called the Department of War, a much more honest name. We need to stop using this euphemism to make it seem like we're using the military to defend ourselves. Military spending goes toward weapons, machines of death. It goes toward killing people who would have had no issue with us if those at the top hadn't started the fight with their bullsh*t dreams of imperialism.

A pretty intense rant, I know. I hadn't had one in a while, so I figured I'm due for one. I think I'll just leave it at that and go to bed before I think of something else to to off on a tirade about.

Yeah, no. Lets not go there. I'm fairly certain that every single country that makes up the so-called third world are the worst countries in the world. Famine, drought and natural disasters up the ying-yang. Diseases such as AIDS running rampart cause the Pope told them they'd go to hell if they use condoms. Not to mention customs such as child marriage/sexual slavery and genital mutilation. Sounds top notch, eh?

Followed by the crazy Muslim countries in the Middle-East and elsewhere. Y'know, where you can still be executed for witchcraft and women have to cover themselves to the point of being inside a walking tent, else they're "tempting" the men to the point of gang-rape in the street?

There are some aspects I think are freaking idiotic in 'merkuh, but I would never classify it as the worst country in the world.

I understand that things in third world countries are bad, but it seems to me that as the United States was becoming a superpower, its assistance in helping perpetuate a capitalist world economy would ensure that third world countries and all of their societal ills would remain the way they are and not be fixed. And now, the United States does things like going into Iraq under the guise of helping people (that was their third excuse anyway, after Iraq was found to be housing no weapons of mass destruction or "terrorists"), but what does our government do about these third world nations? Nothing at all.

Also, a decent part of why I called the United States the worst country in the world is the potential for greater destruction of the world and harm to its people. It looks to me like the corruption in this country by the purchasing of politicians has only gotten worse over time in terms of what this country is doing to the rest of the world, and I wouldn't expect that trend to stop now.

but what does our government do about these third world nations? Nothing at all.

Because we (The west) make money off third world countries. Without them we wouldn't of gotten as rich as we are, their sustained poverty gives us better living conditions, its a harsh truth which no one will face. The amount spend on the military could feed third world countries, religion's tax-free exempt could also be used to stop world hunger...

As much as it pains me to say nobody cares about the hungry, It's why charities get taxed and everyone then ignores these countries so everyone else can get paid.

Well, there is only so much one can do for third world countries anyway.

Look at Africa: how many untold billions have various charities and foreign aid pumped into those corrupt hellholes they call countries down there?

They have to straighten up their act first. With the money/aid they get, they -should- not be nearly as bad as they are. Also, charge with Pope for using biological weapons and mass murder!

It's funny, there was this documentary about it the other day. 94% of the money USA as a donor nation gives to various charity and aid foundations goes back to USA. You don't give them a dollar to grow a potato. You give them a dollar to grow a potato in USA, then package and transport it to Africa.

I know. It's very unfortunate, and it's just a byproduct of the way our current system socializes us. We're never actually told to be greedy, but making and having money is valued in our culture, and the individualism that our culture perpetuates causes massive amounts of self-interested behavior. Then when people act greedy, most others just pass it off as a natural human disposition without looking at other cultures around the world to see if such a disposition is present across the board, which, in fact, it's not. More eastern collectivist cultures don't have those same kinds of attitudes at all. Each individual focuses on what would benefit the group, not him or herself. Now, if we didn't have money influencing our culture in the way that it does, we would have the potential to be more like that. An industrialized collectivist society could be very powerful in delivering basic living essentials and resources to the third world and the developing world. With the technology we have at our disposal today, housing, clothing, feeding, and medically treating every human being on the planet is completely within the realm of physical possibility. It's the existence of money that holds us back.

All I have to say is this: you know those stereotypes about Texans? So far as ProjectEgo.net is concerned, you can just take all of those stereotypes, subtract "Confederate apologist, secessionist-sympathizing redneck, and/or Hispanic," replace Texas with Maryland, steers with crabs, and you've got me.

It's Maryland and the 49 other, lesser states from where I'm standing, bitches. Greatest place on earth!

Would you like me to give you my crabs?

You're not giving Walker enough credit.

Exactly. I am deeply offended.

It's only because better off people are a world away from these problems, if they saw actually a starving 3rd world village first hand instead of just a few images of skinny children crying on the telly it'd change their perspective on things (unless they were complete sociopaths.)
