I have had similar problems with my game being unplayable as well. First it starts with freezing at times during saves, to it progressively getting worse till the save is corrupted. The only thing I can think of that may be causing it, would be playing Live co-op and maybe collecting to many items.

I'm only interested in fully augmented weapons I do not have. So I won't trade for any un-augmented, but that doesn't mean I won't help you when I can later on. No problem I posted how weapons lose and retain their augments on some other forums. Perhaps I should make a post about that here.
