A familiar voice at Dragon-Con 09'

So Ron Glass(The voice actor of Garth, our friendly neighborhood Will-user) is going to be at this year's Dragon-Con.
It'll be a treat to meet him. He's done other work, but his voice acting in Fable II is probably one of my favorites.
I am thinking about laminating a picture of Garth and letting him autograph it.
I'm pretty psyched.
Anyone else going?

Yeah, that pretty much adds them up.

lol just kidding But seriously, what is a Dragon-Con? Is it some sort of Scalie convention?

Wikipedia.org said:
Dragon Con (also Dragon*Con) is a North America multigenre convention, held annually in Atlanta, Georgia. The 30,000-plus-member convention takes over a six-square block area of downtown Atlanta near Centennial Olympic Park, and is hosted by a 1500-member volunteer staff. Dragon Con has hosted the 1990 Origins Game Fair and the 1995 North American Science Fiction Convention (NASFiC). Like many World Fantasy Conventions, it is operated by a private corporation, and was the subject of considerable controversy by a small segment of SMOF fandom in 1995 [2] when it was scheduled on Labor Day Weekend, often a date for domestic Worldcons. Since its inception in 1987, it raises thousands of dollars each year for local and national charities and since 2003.

Don't know if that's the right Dragon con

Re: A familiar voice at Dragon-Con 09'

Yeah...
It's basically a geek convention.
There are always alot of comic writers and artists, movie stars, musicians, etc at Dragon-Con.
Dragon-Con is the second biggest Convention in America, I believe, just under Comic-Con.
Two years ago, I met the Weasley Brothers(from H.P), the original man in the Chewbacca suit, Darth Vader(yes...THE orginal.), Voltaire, and much more.
Alot of people like to dress up as fantasy/science-fiction/wierd characters or whatnot...
Last time I went, there were 10 guys dressed up as Spartans...It was pretty awesome.
Some of the little shops held inside are pretty awesome, too.
There was a shop with nothing but plush Cthulhus last time I went...
Hehehe

Re: A familiar voice at Dragon-Con 09'

sounds awesome, I'm imagining myself whacking a glass wearing nerd in a spartan custome with his foam breastplate..... I would have fun at dragon-con...

Re: A familiar voice at Dragon-Con 09'

This strikes my nerdy fancy... I was there once, I hate cosplays and conventions, but I did get a Murloc plushy, twas awesome, but I would never do anything like that again even for a Frostmourne. XD

Re: A familiar voice at Dragon-Con 09'

I would give birth.... to a child.... for frostmourne

Re: A familiar voice at Dragon-Con 09'

Is the blade sharp? If yes where can I get a Arthas custome....

I'm goan get famus on teh T-V neus!

Re: A familiar voice at Dragon-Con 09'

that really depends on where you buy them.... I was at this small medieval-lish castle town outside praque, some shops there made swords and armors using the old methods and they demonstrated on a few unlucky wooden logs what their swords could do :D

Re: A familiar voice at Dragon-Con 09'

^That is nice, Where we bought ours they had a Scottish Claymore that couldn't cut like anything, and a Katana that did fairly descent. I have a Dagger, I don't know what you call it, but it is VERY sharp...

There are those among us that remember his as Felix Unger or Ron Harris in The New Odd Couple or Barney Miller respectively.
