I own a Wii, but I don't really use it. I only break it out during parties and stuff, which isn't bad because it was designed for social gameplay.
The Wii is a good console, but in terms of 'hardcore' gaming you're better off getting a 360 or PS3.

Alot of the girls I know are more 360 & PS3 fans, and those that own a Wii have gotten seriously bored with it.
I wanted a Wii during the 4th quarter of last year, but they were sold out still and the console's future lineup of games looked lousy.. the only game I would've gotten for it are Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Mario Galaxy.
And of course the Wii is a toy, so is the PS3 & 360.. they're all just electronic toys that provide us some great entertainment.

Played Wii Ski over the weekend which was a lot of fun (and I'm several shades of awesome at it, if I do say so myself)...that board thing you stand on though is super sensitive...slightest movement sends you crashing into a tree...

Personally, I'd rather go play some real sport than jump around in my living room waving a stick at the TV. And I have a Wii, btw. Tsuyu's right, it's great when people come around and in small doses, but it is otherwise a novelty.
