Basically anything by Valve, I'd buy the complete pack off of Steam

I'm against buying purely a bunch of binary code that's going to disappear if my system dies. I want a physical copy of it.

EDIT: What about Dragon Age? I played it a bit a while ago, but the HUD was difficult to use, and it seemed pretty cliche-Tolkien-fantasy-RPG. Does it get better?

I thought that you didn't want suggestions that are CPU intensive? Or I might have been mistaken and thought that you had a CPU that was kind of lesser in quality.

But yes, definitely Dragon Age. That is, especially if you like RPGs, which I'm sure you do. Dragon Age has very much replayability, too.

I hear Dues Ex..or whatever is good.

Deus Ex is superb. I can't wait for Deus Ex 3.

I've got a pretty good CPU, but it might not be able to handle some of the most recent games very well. I can run ME2 fine, so maybe you can use that as a yardstick?
