Millions..... of children, yeah. Not anyone else whose kinda over the age of cartoons, excluding the good ol cartoons that were made a long time ago like Bugs Bunny and Road Runner etc, but it's kinda funny if someone over the age of 13 is watching Avatar of all shows. I'd feel bad for that person.

Children? Lol. And teens. And adults. I have many friends who like, even love, Avatar. Please, take your ignorant comments else where.

Re: Avatar: Legend of Korra

It's not ignorance. It was meant for children. I'm sorry you consider that being ignorant just cause I don't agree with adults watching cartoons or anime.

Re: Avatar: Legend of Korra

The show isn't just meant for kids. In fact, I still have no idea why it was on Nick. The reason they're putting more mature themes into this new series is because they've realized that a good portion of their fans are older. It has a great story, it's rich in character development, it is extremely emotion-invoking, and it has many themes that would go right over a child's head. Watch a good amount of it, get to know the story more, then come back and give your opinion of it.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Have you even actually watched a full season?

Re: Avatar: Legend of Korra

I think Sean was beaten for watching a "children's show" on his 14th birthday, because he is obviously intolerant enough of others opinions with this matter.

Re: Avatar: Legend of Korra

Launched in February 2005, Avatar aired for three seasons on Nickelodeon and was ranked among the top five animated properties on television among boys, 2-11 and 6-11 (2005/2006). During this time, the series reached a total of 21.7 million total viewers (persons 2+), including 8.8 million kids 2-11 and 6.3 million kids 6-11*. Currently, Avatar: The Last Airbender is the number one program on Nicktoons among tweens. (Source: *Nielsen Cume Data – July 2008, Live + 7 day, 6 min. qualifier.)

Aw, c'mon Cheez, what's wrong with Avatar?

enclosed in these spoilers is my avatar rant. you can debate if you want, but this is set in stone for me. if you love and i mean love the film, i don't really recommend it.

James Cameron: a **** director to begin with for such movies as Rambo First Blood: Part II, True Lies, and Piranha II: The Spawning. Over it's entire course of filming Avatar soaked up a whomping 237 million dollar budget and made over 2 billion. The budget of your average movie is roughly 65 million. so to start off with, it was a high production value film that over quadrupled the average costs to make. It's profit margin replaced Titanic, another James Cameron trash pile. James Cameron is not a good director. Like Steven Spielburg, he's a director that Hollywood can give a studio, pump full of cash, and make tons of more cash. Most Avatards don't realize that just because a film has tons of violence, or top of the line special effects, doesn't make it a good movie. Just the opposite in fact. If anything I would have only used Avatar to show off a new computer chip at E3.

When it came out, it drove tons of people into obsession, depression, and suicidal thoughts. I saw it, sure it was fun. Toy Story 3 was better. But to some people it drove them to killing themselves because they could never be in the jungles of pandora. On top of that, if you were to take all of the money put into and made from Avatar we could probably have made Africa a much better place. But no, James Cameron had to soak it up into the movie industry and let out a giant stinking turd that we call Avatar.

So when you take into account the fact that James Cameron is a terrible director, the movie was average at best, people went nuts after seeing it, and all of that money could have and should have gone to a better place, maybe you can see why I dislike it.

Re: Avatar: Legend of Korra

You got it droded, you obviously know me. Stop talking, it's useless. I'm not saying people shouldn't watch it, it's just my opinion that it's strange for older people to watch that show, so saying my opinion means I'm intolerant of others opinions?

Necro, I actually watched it when it first aired, so yeah when I was like 11 or so, but around 12 I stopped, I didn't like the newer seasons and I had already grown out of that stuff, I just think them coming out with more is kinda ridiculous, milking and milking it.

It's not really something that you can get into by watching a few episodes here and there. It's best to watch some of the beginning and get to know the story and its themes a little bit. And if you think it's at all half-way decent at that point, just remember that it only keeps getting better.

i did watch the beginning. i know the characters, their villages, and the overarching plot. it's just not for everybody.
i prefer to watch the show that the entire avatar art team was required to watch before making the show: FLCL (read very bottom).
