As expected really to be honest.

EA's Battlefield 1943 has become the fastest selling Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network download-only title.

The multiplayer FPS, which features two modes, four maps and supports 24 players online, broke day one and week one download-only game records worldwide on Xbox 360, and in the US on PS3.

Since its launch on July 8, the DICE developed WWII shooter has sold over 600,000 copies across both platforms.

"We are honoured by the reception that the game has received so far," said Battlefield 1943 producer Gordon Van Dyke. "We can now truly say that we have set a new standard for what can be done in the downloadable games category."

The game is available for 1200 MS Points (£10.20/$15) on Xbox 360 and £9.99/$15 on PS3.

I've never really cared about the Battlefield series, myself. Nor any FPS, for that matter.

And that 21p could buy me some nice sour sweets......Yes I'm aware how ironic Sour Sweets are.

I was never really into the Battlefield games because my computer couldn't handle them. But when I got BF: BC, I instantly fell in love. The game is like balanced perfection.

Got to love them.

I can tolerate impartiality, like if someone enjoys one system more than other systems, and I like it when they promote their favored platform, but I don't like it when they attack users of other platforms, in fact, I dislike it. Mad face.

Im exactly the same to be honest. If people have a preference then fine but attacking other gamers for playing games on another platform is just silly.

Re: Battlefield 1943 breaks download records

I loved BF: 1942, BF: Desert Combat and BF: Bad Company the most.

I actually quite enjoyed Battlefield 2142 too, the Titan Mode was excellent. Battlefield 2 and Special Ops were good also.

^ Im not too into Futuristic games, Sure i'll play them. Like Halo.

Special Ops was Fun, I liked using the grapple hook. And the Sniper set where you got the crossbow with a rope and thingy.. It was fun!

^ Me and 2 Other mates were on LOVE with Battlefield 1942! Because of my older brother! He showed us it once, and we fell in love.

We went to the Internet cafe just to play it, We'd spend hours there!

We loved getting in the Huge plane on El Alamain, Man i remember it so clearly, Then race around in jeeps. Just ****ing around.

Isn't it great how games have such awesome-ness packed in them?

Re: Battlefield 1943 breaks download records

This game is by far worth it, if anyone would like to play with me sometime add me on XBL. I'm a captain which I believe is rank 34, I haven't played in a good week though. Taking a break but if anyone wants to I will get on. =]

Re: Battlefield 1943 breaks download records

I "sometimes" play, But i wont be anytime soon because I Lent my Xbox 360 to a friend for a week or 2. So .. No. Sorry.

Re: Battlefield 1943 breaks download records

I played a little BF 1942 at a friends house but it wasn't untill BF: Vietnam that I truly fell in love. Then later I played loads of BF2 with some friends and a little 2142

Re: Battlefield 1943 breaks download records

okay im sorry for my biased opinion.....i love ps3 as much as the next guy cause it has some good games like metal gear solid...but its kinda the truth at the time we got the 40 something million kills ps3 only had 22 million which means it may not have been as popular on ps3 or they are just crap i think its not as popular which means battlefield on xbox is better because of the more users. there a fair and proven case...it may have changed now but i have not checked since then.

Battlefield was a great series from battlefield vietname but because of my computer i have not ever played another battlfield till 1943 which then ogt me to buy bad company which is meh imo but still good. so anyone wanna play some bad company or 1943 with me?
