That said about war games you have Halo 3 as last played game.

Yeah..

I hadn't played it in a while and played a game or two. I prefer Gears a lot more now.

With 1943, if I hear my friend Kurt shout down the mic "KAMIKAZE" while crashing into someone with a plane one more time.. I'll kill him.

Better than the people that used to drive off cliffs on purpose with a jeep full of allies. Then leave message in chat on side of screen saying 'Thank you for using the kamikaze taxi service' on PC version.

Or ones that rigged vehicles with C4 only to wait until you have gotten in them and driven off to detonate them. Usually taking out enemies that were near where you were in the process and actually gaining kills and points from it.

Lmao. That'd be pretty damn funny.

Re: Battlefield 1943

If I weren't SO DAMN BROKE, I would buy it, just because it sounds cool.

they need to make a wwIII game just take a stab in the dark of who we will fight next ohh... i dont know... north korea?:shifty:

They've actually made a LOT of WWIII games. EndWar is only the most recent that I've played. Usually they're still stuck on US-Europe-Russia. Sometimes they get adventurous (I managed to completely **** up spelling that. Brain broken.) and go with China or North Korea, yes.

Don't see what's wrong with World War 2 games, I'm a bit of a WW2 buff. No war we've had since it has been that big or important.

Besides, today's war with the long-range missiles what-not aren't as fun as the old weaponry of the 30's-40's.

I'm a WWII buff, too, and I still like WWII games, but I can see a bunch of reasons for disliking them. For one, there's a lot of them. For another, WWII is a hideously depressing war, and making a game out of it can seem kind of... (I have a simple vocabulary, so) ****ed up if you think about it too much.

But it's also good because it's a stereotypically heroic kinda event, even with all the decidedly non-heroic **** that went along with it.

If done right WWII games can be really good and sell well. I think however that people are getting tired of mediocre games that make you replay the same scenarios over and over. Dont bring anything new to the table and recycle what other WWII games have already done.

Re: Battlefield 1943

WWII games got old for a while there, we get it, the allied win. But this new arcade game looks promising, I might just get it :)

Re: Battlefield 1943

Do you know what would be interesting? A Vietnam game. How many of those have been made so far?

Re: Battlefield 1943

there has been made quite a few of those but none of them has really been worth playing except Battlefield: Vietnam

Re: Battlefield 1943

I figured there would just be a bunch of bad ones I've never heard about.

As Xeon said there have been a handful and this series has already done Vietnam.

Re: Battlefield 1943

Any Civil War games? Geez, that is going too far back.

One or two, they all suck.

Need some pre-history war games, cavemen with rocks, clubs and crappy stick spears.

I know the History Channel made one (I'm assuming you're talking US Civil War, since youse Canucks never had one (or did you?)), but I only ever played a demo for a few minutes at Best Buy. It was, shall we say, a bitch. Civil War-style combat doesn't really lend itself to gaming. Slow-loading and relatively short-ranged inaccurate weapons. On the other hand, there are a bunch of really cool moments they could recreate. I might have to get the actual game and try it. Hmmmm... (Not that this is in any way relevant to the discussion.)

Yeah are some quite good mods for them on PC. Also on the battlefield series too.

Re: Battlefield 1943

I got my battlefield 1943 yesterday, the maps are kinda big for the 24 players but it sems pretty good, i find it a brilliant game and i absolutely hate ww1 and ww2 games for example cod WaW because of its crap multiplayer everyone uses bloody mp40 on tht stupid game and tanks are overpowered, thts a example of a **** WW2 game. while battlefield does it brilliant! and battlefield vietnam rules it was my first battlefield game played in the series. but the coral sea map sucks, unless u love aeroplanes.
i reccommend buying it and playing it with me!!
P.S Shame on PS3 users of battlefield who failed to beat us in the race to get the map MUAHAHAHAHA..(no excuses on the one day extra we had because u were on 22 million killz)
