can you make a female hero?

The fable 3 trailer looks so very very different to Fable 2, I can't believe it. However, can you still make a female hero? It says he had two sons, therefore can you not be a female hero?

You can play as a guy or a gal. Even though we know that all girls online are G.I.R.L..

It's really easy lvling up and all... I just couldn't take it! :O
