Giving a reason would give me more support in not thinking you didn't even play most of them.

Meh, I just get bored with a lot of sandbox games, and I absolutely despise "Gangstas" and stupid people, GTA has all of these, and on top of this, the story just didn't reach out to me as much as the rest of them did. I also really don't like rap, and that game is a rap song made into a game.

also, i find it hilarious that infinity ward is losing to zynga (creators of mafia wars, farmville, etc) :lol:

Zynga would of course win, imagine the amount of people that have prioritised their crops in Farmville, to anything. Zynga will probably win since Farmville is just as addictive as WoW but has been marketed to casual gamers.

Wow. You didn't even PLAY San Andreas, did you? You don't even have to listen to rap. The first hour or so you may do missions with your gang, and you don't even have to dress as a "gangsta". I wore a Rockstar hoody, normal jeans, and work boots and listened to KDST. Which wasn't rap, it was old **** like Billy Idol and Lynard Skynard. Hell, there were only 2 rap stations in the game. Radio X was even a nice station to listen to. You only had to do gang wars if you were in Los Santos, and if you don't like gang life, then you weren't even there anyways. I never was after the beginning.

And you are forgetting GTA 3. And Vice City. Both of which aren't even affiliated with a ghetto life. Vice City took place in Miami for Christ's sake.

So far you have just proved to me that you based the whole GTA series on glimpses of San Andreas. Good job.

And on topic, it is kind of sad that those crappy games like Farmtown are so popular. I would rather hit myself in the sack than play those games.

Firstly, I never said you had to listen to rap, I said it was like a rap star turned into a game, secondly, I've played

GTA: liberty city stories
GTA3

But mostly san andreas, and there were to many gang/ rap references, the limit to rap/ gang references should be 0 to anything in my opinion, as rap is crap to me, and gangs are ridiculous, and taking cars, staring at whores, and randomly shooting people, is stupid.

I think the main thorn in this game is, despite the level of customization (radio, clothes, do me shoot man or help him) it is still gear very heavily towards gang war fare. Even though it portrays all different types of gangs, for many people it will still have a heavy doseof "gangsta" in it.

It's something I find off-putting as well, though GTA4 did improve drastically on the situation.

I'm 16 and an Atheist........ And this is my interpretation of the game, and I agree with wanderingwizards post. I know it's not all Gangsta crap, but damn! The fact that there is any let alone that much in there puts me off the game. That and the fact that, once you complete the objectives/missions/storyline, there isn't much to do, except play around with the cheat codes.

I never said it had to be perfect, modern warfare was far from perfect. I loved it though. Same with fable, fable 2, brutal Legend, and every single other game in existence, there is always, always room for improvement.

And the thing with me is, I'm very picky, and I only like about 1 out of 15 or so games, GTA just isn't one of them. And I hate minigames, side missions are decent, the racing in gta just doesn't feel right to me (I really only like the newer titles of the nfs series in terms of racing) Tagging is gansta crap, stunt jumps are often associated gangsta crap, I can't even stomach silver key collecting in my favorite game, let alone finding oysters/horseshoes in a game I don't like. BMX is another "hip" activity associated largely with the hiphop scene. I just shot down most of those activities, any more? And also, besides being hip hop, or gangsta, they're too skater punkish. I hate skater punks.

Look guys lets not get too heated, and respect each others opinions, and don't get too personal. But GTA has had a wide range of criminal protaganists. And to some extent during the game San Andreas, it does drift away from the gangster scene, and towards the casinos, government conspiracy and chop shops. Also many other protagonists have not been tupac wannabes for example my favourite was Johnny the biker in GTA: TLAD.

But remember GTA has had a big impact on the world creating the first sandbox game.. And although PM's god genre has also had a big impact... Todays games have had more influence from Rockstar than Lionhead (more Bullfrog)

I've never heard that anywhere... around here Ganstas and other people who listen to and act apon what rap says, are hated with a fiery, deep, passion, those kind of people are disgusting to me. every to I hear "Yo what up G" or "Hey my nigga', I want to turn around and scream and beat the crap outta whoever says it, I know a kid in my school who started a fist fight because he spoke gansta 24/7, and the other kid got tired of it. Granted that's a bit extreme, I still despise those kinds of people. I mean graffitti other peoples property? Is that really your definition of fvckin cool? That's vandalism, and it's a crime, not to mention selfish. And people who aren't that bad but are slightly skaterpunk or gangsta annoy the crap outta me when they speak. think nails on a chalkboard.

My friends are metalheads in real life, and few tag and they all BMX. And how in the hell is stunt jumping associated with being a gangster?

The newer NFS games are sh*t. Most Wanted is the best one.

You're being a bit close minded. I didn't like San Andreas. I loved Vice City though. But saying you don't like it because it's "gangsta" is kinda retarded.

I know this from experience. MetalHeads who are really open abut it are considered really annoying. And I honestly find them annoying. Even though I love Metal. Like one of them screams a lot of **** about things he hate and i'm like stfu. And sure graffiti-ing on other people's property may be considered vandalism and crime, but its an art. Nowadays people graffiti to be cool though.
