I'm pretty sure it's just a remastered Dragonball Z. i.e. Better quality.

I think this will affect some of the scenes that have more unnecessary filler than those two do. I've been watching the android saga recently, and there's been quite a bit of it in there. Do you know if it's in English? I can't stand watching DBZ in Japanese. Their voices are so incredibly annoying, and I hate subtitles.

it is shortend too, in DBZ it takes goku like 3 whole min to turn super saiyan for the first time, in Kai its like 1 min

Its reanimated, remastered and has the filler episodes cut. Im on about Episode 43 or something (cant remember off top of my head) but Goku has just gone Super Saiyan. Been bringing back nostalgic feelings without the boring filler episodes and 12 episodes of powering up and talking.

I'm still on episode 17 of Kai, I'll probably just wait until the Blu-Ray releases in May and catch up then.

I just tried watching episode 1 and... holy sh*t... bad casting. Their voices... are all so terrible... so so terrible.

Pretty sure that most of them are the same as the original DBZ ones in Japanese and the only ones to change on the redubbing of the English ones are as follows:

Gohan: Colleen Clinkenbeard

Bulma: Monica Rial

Narrator: Doc Morgan

Chiaotzu and Puar: Brina Palencia

The rest of the characters remain the same voices.

All of their voices are so incredibly annoying in the Japanese version. They're all so squeaky and high-pitched. It's like they all hit puberty over night when it was translated to English.

Maybe I'll be able to get the DVDs this time around, I stopped watching just before GT started.

They already did on DVD with those Dragon Movie Boxes along with the original Dragon Ball, no idea if they will for Blu-Ray though.

As for the voice of Gohan, expect it to be this voice as this is who the girl is known for:
