Fable 2 keeps crashing ???

im playing on xbox series x and i just started a new game as its my first time playing fable 2, and the first time I played it crashed on the traders(?) cutscene right at the beginning, then I just played it again and it crashed while I was just running around…

is this just a normal occurrence or is it something perhaps on my side making it crash?? :,)

Someone else asked about the same thing a while ago. Seems to be an issue with the newer consoles. Some have suggested playing the game with your console set to offline.

i ended up changing it to appear offline and changed in settings to enhance performance over graphics (which I never knew I could do) and its not crashed yet

Mate Fable 2 is a bug ridden mess.

Apparently it is only something that has occurred to the game in the last couple of months according to people who have played it. Even playing the disc version on Xbox One or Xbox Series wont help.

When I played the game a few weeks ago I was taking to saving after everything I did so I wouldn't lose everything. I was barely going 30 seconds to a minute between saves.

At times I was only getting upto 5 minutes before the game froze where as other times I could play for ages without it freezing. There was one stage where I didn't switch my Xbox One S off for over 1 1/2 days as the game was running fine.

Oh and just to point out going offline or playing online makes no difference the game will still freeze. I was doing every trick I could think off, playing online, playing offline and reseting my cache but it made no difference the game would still freeze.

I think I set a record for game freezing. I put my Xbox One S on, loaded up the game and I had barely moved my girl 3 steps and it froze.

Mate the freezing and crashing is hit amd miss it is not going to happen in the same areas all the time.

When I replayed the game a few weeks ago I did two run throughs. On my first run through I was able to do the whole of the bandit coast with Hammer, get to the Chamber Of Heroes for the first time and do all off the third and final part of Knothole Island without it freezing but on my second run through it was freezing every 5 - 10 minutes in those areas.

Some areas seem to run better than others.

Like I said in my previous post I didn't switch off my Xbox One S for over a day and a half as it was running fine and I was scared that if I switched off it would go back to crashing which it eventually did.

Mate there Youtube videos and other forum posts about the freezing.

Mate take my advice please and just save after everything you do as you will never know when it will freeze on you.

oh no no i still save it every 2 mf seconds anyways (not literally ofc) but just incase, I was just saying it barely crashes anymore
the first couple of times I tried to play it crashed within 2 minutes, but after id gotten past the quest to get the music box it only crashes every 40ish minutes

also idk if this will help but it also stopped freezing after i changed something in the Xbox 360 settings, there’s a tab for whatever Xbox youre on and its auto set onto enhancing the graphics and I changed it to enhance performance and it started running smoothly then
