Fable 2 let down?

Hey people

im here today to ask you...
do you think that fable 2 was a let down?

personaly... i do...
all the things they tried to fix... they killed... all the things that were good in ther first game... they tried to make better....and they made them worse...

for starters... ALL magic is too good... and there all the same... force push... doesn't push... wtf... that makes sense... lighting, fire, and force push... are all damage spells...

the summoning spell isn't strong enough... the things you summon don't do nearly enough damage...

i havn't really used the confusion spell... so i can't say anything bout that...

and you have unlimited ammount of mana... wtf... to win the game all you have to do is sit there and keep on hitting B!

and as for everything else... well... to get to the higher lvls of things... it takes too much XP (to get lvl 5 summon... it is 198000 XP)
for some one who has beatin the game twice... it takes a long time to get that much XP... and thats for one thing...

any way... i could go on all day about this game....

but i want to here what you people have to say about what i have said... and about the game.

Re: Fable 2 let down?

yea true.... but that ruins the game...
i like to earn my XP...

i wouldn't call it an upgrade from fable 1...
i'd just call it fable 1 re-done with better graphics and a differen't story line

Re: Fable 2 let down?

its not just a simple as just "keep pressing B" this might work at the very beggining, but even hobbes will kill you if you just do that...

Re: Fable 2 let down?

although people are probably going to flame me for this, and i do love the game, done loads of replays and everything i can in it so far.

firstly it feels unfinished, just as you meet reaver it ends, its like the whole ending seems rushed and not as planned out as well as the rest of the story..... SPOILER: with no final boss fight (i mean wtf, 1 bullet finnishes it all, no uber jack of blades style ending, just bang and its ove with a lot of questions unawnsered)

the silver keys enforce this by having 50 in game, but only chests up to 20 (there is 1 chest which requires 50 keys, and i almost cried after opening the chest to find it was only 50k gold, considering its inside the fairfax mansion which costs 1mil, its like a kick in the face) it seems to me like they intended to have chests for 25-45 but didnt do the area for it.

i would complain about magic being overpowered at the begining of the game, but near the end having a decent gun is 10 times more effective than using magic, not to mention you can always roll out the way between shots unlike spells..... so its kinda balanced, but either way i find the most enjoyable experiance can be gotten from using melee ranged and magic for when they best work.

nearly all the magic is offensive and just does damage, blades instead of having blades floating around attacking people like in the first fable, its just a damage spell, force push doesnt push just does damage, vortex kinda works well and basically does what force push doesnt but its still just a damaging move, confusion is funny and can be used defensivly but theres still a chance they will attack you anyway. those being said, time slow is awesome, and the fact you can use it like assassins rush gives melee better survivability... although the area cast only lasts a few seconds. no physical shield, no will bar, no heal life, no beserk, it takes away some of the indivduality fables magic system had over other games in favor of damage, damage and when in doubt more damage.

and lastly, the fact that if you invest in real estate near the begining of the game you can literally never need money for items again, on my third play through i had 2mil gold, and every house in the game (including fairfax).

but of course all my points are invalid on the fact that its still an awesome game which i ll still happily replay time and time again looking for hidden things and different concequences (sp?). and it would take way to long for me to list all the great things in this game.

Re: Fable 2 let down?

I completely agree dewd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
all the spells are hit the ground or shoot one guy

Storyline didnt explain anything that was going on magic box, died twice didnt explain how he survived, and the ending was just well i was expecting something epic not standing and talking maybe alil figting woulda been kewl right?

leveling and munny is either super easy or the hardest thing ever depending on if you know what to do, or you kewd cheat, thats anoter thing wrong with this game...

Re: Fable 2 let down?

ok... did you play the same fable 2 as me??? because you can get like 300000 experience from one crucible run... if not more... also you can go buy potions with 62000 experience which if you use in combat you can get the combat multiplier added... i personally didnt use magic that much and i agree they messed up force push... i enjoyed not letting enemies stand up as i spammed force push... very funny... but i dont see how they messed up anything else up... other than length... and i have also beat the game twice and both characters have full abilities... also you dont have two different ending achievements so i doubt you beat it twice

Re: Fable 2 let down?

The game was not a let down if you do not take PM's comments into consideration. Like people have said over and over, listen to PM's promises with a grain of salt. Personally I too was a little disappointed, but I cannot let that stop me from enjoying the game regardless.

Re: Fable 2 let down?

PM will probs keep all his promises .. like i have said before keep your eye on the patches

The game takes a while for someone new to fable .. i can clock fable 1 in about 10 hours its not hard ... the exp was put high in this one cause in fable 1 people found a spot where you can farm 999999 general xp in 30 minutes and go max your char .. (game pretty much simple after this) therefore the last boss in fable 1 takes a minute and a half to kill .. he probably wanted the last cutscene to explain things ... (I didnt understand it anyhow) please take things into a wider perspective before posting your garbage.

KKthxbi!!!!!!

Re: Fable 2 let down?

Guys, I'm a Fable2 fan as much as the next person but please can we not run others down who have complaints about the game. So long as they aren't calling your mom a hooker with VD coz you like Fable 2, I'm pretty sure they can freely give their opinions, ok?

None of this "get out" stuff please. That's not the projectego way ^_^

Re: Fable 2 let down?

I didnt think its a letdown. I actually think the game is awesome and that its one of the best Rpgs I've played.

Re: Fable 2 let down?

You need to look at it as not an extension of Fable but a game in its own right. Yes, the references to Fable 1 are there etc but when Fable 1 came out it was stand alone - it wasn't a prequel, sequel or beginning of any sort of series, per se. So you had armour, expressions, items etc that would not be found in medieval times. Now they have created a new world, they have made more allusions to reality and history - you can play a lute, but no air guitar. No Union Jack pants and no easter eggs such as the bully telling people to wash his mum's car. But it retains its humour nonetheless and is a much more mature game - think of it as having gone through puberty and come out the other side as a more grown-up and modified young adult, creating a different world, different story and much more intriguing characters, IMO.

Fable 1 was essentially very tongue in cheek for the most part - they changed gameplay and certain aspects to make the new game different, deeper in places and more accurate historically/visually in order to immerse the player more into the world of Fable. Yes, for previous Fable players it will seem too different perhaps - but think of those who are new to the game. They will have certain expectations and preconceptions, as well as not necessarily being familiar enough with the game to know anything about it prior to Fable 2's creation.

Yes there are issues with the game - so what? All games have something about them which could be improved. But this is the first next-gen Fable game and a damn good one at that. They've brought in some very famous names in the world of British acting, they've added something even I was dubious about but has worked insanely well (the dog), they've still retained a lot of the Fable humour such as those gargoyles insulting you, they've improved and developed certain enemies as well as adding new ones, the world is bigger and much more fun to traverse, IMO, plus they are doing pretty much what they intended to do in the first place - make you feel connected enough to certain characters to care as well as appealing to casual gamers who want to enjoy an RPG with depth and enjoyment but who haven't necessarily played one before and won't be familiar with how to play or how to complete certain combo moves etc.

This is all my opinion, of course, but I'm a huge fan of both Fable games and purposefully kept away from all spoilers and discussion until it was released so I could appreciate it for what it is - a huge step in the right direction for Lionhead.

Re: Fable 2 let down?

First off im sorry hard core Fable fans if this angers you infact i loved fable 1 and I would consider myself a fan untill this; but its my opinion and this sectuion is for just that so if you dont like it tough.. dont read it.

Fable 2 Failed Hard the ending was not only that compairable to the ending of the supranos or Cloverfield but it happened before I knew it I kept saying to myself as I shot Lucian " I hope there is more I hope there is more" but of corse there wasnt...

It makes no sence that u find The last hero and 10 minutes later the game is over while u know the others for most of the game.

The lack of armor was a huge dissapointment I know what they were getting at with the individuality but who cares? If that where the case they should have many different types of armor with the same bonuses or small changes in attributes maby instead of gay looking cloths they should have at least some more desireable clothing to choose from.

It seems they focused more on having a family, buying houses and wearing lame and prissy little outfits with dyes than actual game play! If I wanted a game baced almost soley on that crap I would be playing the SIMs, there where no REAL bosses or any good battles to fully enjoy the well made fighting interface bandits and hollows made up 75% of the enemies you encounter while exploring. BOOOOORING!!! All you need is a slighty good gun and you win the game... seriously its as easy as that shoot n roll is all you need maby a slash of the sword once in a while.

The weapons also didnt look all that great even the legendary weapons where kindof lame. No really cool looking swords or anything just pretty much standard guns and big guns with standard swords and big axes ect...

Fable 1 (and I say this with complete honesty) was actually far better than 2. The pros beat the cons in 1 while in fable 2 the cons woop the crap outta the pros. And as for downloadable content, fans better hope they have a catostrophic update that adds the whole missing half of fable 2, and even then i didnt spend $65.45 for a game that I have to wait another 3 years of downloadable content for it to even get the least bit worth while.

While fable 2 was O K it didnt even come close to expectations and i think that most people would agree while the game had it good points mainly just graphic wise and alittle bit of exploring for 3 years of production and huge anticipation it was sad. I will probably end up selling the game at a local game store for less than half what I payed this week as I have finished everything in about 2 weeks including all the keys, pretty much all the hidden items, demons doors and gargoyals and beaten the game 3 times. infact i may actually play fable 1 again just to remind me that Fable isnt a bad game.

I would reccomend this game to people who like the SIMs, cross dressing, homosexuals who like the play with colorful cute little outfits, or very easy games and for ages ranging from 5-14. Enjoy flaming me just remember to change your diper and/or underwear between posts thank you.

Re: Fable 2 let down?

I love Fable 2, but I think they should have started where TLC, left off. It needs the blanks filled in, and I get a little homesick for that.
