Re: Fable 2 let down?
First one: Force push doesn't push? Since when? I love it. I stand there, I blast them back, and then I shoot them. Higher levels they go flying ten, twenty feet. It damages them too, yes, but it always did. I mean, what did you expect? You just hit them with what's basically a concussive blast. Of course it hurts them.
Second one-- Fight Balverines: raise dead. Watch as balverines tear each other to pieces. I haven't tried it around much else, but it's probably cool elsewhere too.
Unlimited mana: Not really that cheap. Yes, the combat is easy. It's also very fun. And hitting B over and over... only helps you on really low-level baddies. You need to charge it up and mix it around and dodge and shoot and all if you really want to do well higher. Mostly because if you don't you'll probably end up dead (okay, fine, unconscious) as you stand there charging up your spell. Well, aside from health potions.
I like guns, and I like magic. And I like my big huge ax. But yes, some work better is some situations, some in others. In some situations, it's best to combine them. For instance, at close quarters you can use melee-- but you can also combine ranged and magic to equal effect.
I haven't used Blades much, but I've watched my sister, who loves the damn thing. Unless I'm mistaken, using it as an area spell the blades will float around you and then attack nearby enemies.
And I'm not sure where you're getting "force push doesn't push" from, but it does. I also miss heal life, though.
Sorry, asshole, but I think you're less likely to get flamed for not liking Fable that you are for basically calling us cross-dressing faggots.

the summoning spell isn't strong enough... the things you summon don't do nearly enough damage...
and you have unlimited ammount of mana... wtf... to win the game all you have to do is sit there and keep on hitting B!

nearly all the magic is offensive and just does damage, blades instead of having blades floating around attacking people like in the first fable, its just a damage spell, force push doesnt push just does damage, vortex kinda works well and basically does what force push doesnt but its still just a damaging move, confusion is funny and can be used defensivly but theres still a chance they will attack you anyway. those being said, time slow is awesome, and the fact you can use it like assassins rush gives melee better survivability... although the area cast only lasts a few seconds. no physical shield, no will bar, no heal life, no beserk, it takes away some of the indivduality fables magic system had over other games in favor of damage, damage and when in doubt more damage.
