I dont quite remember where I saw it, possibly on You-tube, but I watched a press conference that Peter Mollenuex gave on Fable III, and he says that the game will definitely be an RPG.

Please don't revive threads. This is from months ago. And its already been settled that fable 3 isn't an RPG

More accurately, it's been settled that it IS an RPG, but without lots of the RPG-ish features. I think our boy PM called it an "adventure game."

But yeah, there's really no need to resurrect threads that are... holy ****, five months old? They've already been settled and forgotten. Check the date before you post.

ARG Action role playing, that's what I heard in one of the videos. I assume it means more action?

well most adventure games, it play's through a story then after u beat the game, u cannot go back and roam a free world ( usally ) but inna RPG u usally can. i think they are making fable III a mixed Genre

I think everyone's getting hung up on something that doesn't matter.

First-Person Shooter, like Halo or Gears of War. But I don't think that's relevant. The link actually doesn't say anything at all relating to FPSes.

Gears of War is 3rd person.

Yeah. PM said that so that people wouldn't class Fable in a genre and think of it as something unique. Although, it's an RPG.

Really, all he's done is changed Fable from an RPG into a Legend of Zelda RPG. with differences.
