Stop writing fiction; the first chatroom was designed to be for everything Fable-related, the creator (Hobbes_Pwn) sent the link out to every Fable forum he was a member of, thus making it quite public and not private. He then neglected to take care of it, causing certain conflicts due to there not being any rules.
Firis then created a new private chatroom designed for the sole-use of Projectego Forum members because he liked the idea of me joking about there actually being one. (You used the quote as if I was being serious)

Thus the second chatroom was born, but because the original chatroom was already dead, only a couple of members used it for a short period of time. There was zero activity everywhere, and both chatrooms died.
5 months later, Gikoku created this thread because an unknown individual suggested it to him. (Since he's only recently become active again, he did not know the conflict which resulted from the original chatroom)
I did not like the idea of this at all, simply because of what happened last time.

However, one evening when I lacked anything else to do I decided to check and see whether it was dead yet - I was surprised to see it thriving with activity.
Since then, whenever I've logged onto the site I've seen no less than 4 active forum members talking, always getting along. It's been over 2 weeks, and although I do not use the chat very much personally, I do support it enough to say that it
is not a complete disaster this time.

This is completely untrue - as I mentioned above, Hobbes_Pwn created the original chatroom for the Public as a place to discuss the Fable series. (The chatroom link was posted on every Fable forum he could think of)
The "trolls" you mention were actually members of another Fable forum - and because everyone else on the internet is either immature or a jackass - they decided to mess with that chatroom. Everyone from this forum then evacuated to the forum which
Firis created all those months ago.
This forum is now a success because it
does have 'Moderators' in the form of Firis and others who he has anointed. (Zjuggernaut I think?) Any trolls who invaded were immediately banned, and people who have tried to cause trouble were given warnings.
You are now up to date with chatroom history.
