Fable - similar games

Hi!

I've been playing Fable: The Lost Chapters for couple of days (I'm obsessed with it right now!) and I wonder if there are similar games to this one. I know about Oblivion and I'm going to get it soon, the same goes with Fable II (though it's for Xbox 360 and I prefer PC games).

I'm looking for games, which offer changing the look of a hero, many skills and weapon selection - you know, just like Fable.

Do you know any?

I downloaded a game called Gothic II about five years ago and I recall that being strikingly similar to Fable. Although, not nearly as good. I have also since got rid of the copy since I'm a good boy.

Another good RPG for the PC that was a little like Fable -- but even more similar to Oblivion -- which came out in 2003 was a game called Arx Fatalis.

Yea yea yea yea, Gothic is amazing.

The Witcher also pwns.

I think I'll try these games. I already have Gothic III and Witcher.

Now I'm trying to play Oblivion IV - trying, because this game is disgusting! I can't stand people's faces there, they're just ugly. And the beginning is boring; I'd rather learn some history for tomorrow's test than play this.

Maybe you could recommend something similar to Fable, not Oblivion?

Well, how about Diablo 2 and Sacred, it's kinda similar.
You have a character with spells, buying weapons, finishing quests and such

Vampire The Masquerade - Redemption.

It's a PC role playing title with quests and choices that change the game.

I guess it's similar to Fable.

I don't think I've played any that're similar, as I don't play many RPG games; but I'll defiantly check out the games people have suggested in this thread!

Mass Effect & Mass Effect 2 both have loads of customisation options, several difficult decisions to make and a good/evil slide bar. Sci-Fi though, not fanasy like Fable.

I wouldn't even call Fable a proper fantasy game. It's more of a folklore kind of game. Fable 2 is more like Fable 1 converted to a more mainstream fantasy setting.

Honestly, Folklore is my personal favorite, I don't think your gonna find anything quite like Fable, it is very unique.

I've yet to find a game that stands up to the Fable series in terms of customization and style. The only thing I can think of in terms of aesthetics is Viking Battle for Asgard, but that's a completely different genre of game; you have a set character an it's an action adventure with stong elements of RTS.

You could always try Dragon Age, but there's no character morphing and it's map-travel, so no free-roaming. plus, it has the uncanny ability to KICK YOUR ASS.

No. No other game could possibly come possibly close to the masterpiece of Fable. It is unique, out of all the games I've played Fable stood out because it had its own myths and rumours, like Avo and Skorm, and ancient legends and stuff like that. Fable is awesome.

Diablo two is the only one i can think off.
