Wait.... Is the ESRB rating final? Like is it legal to sell kids a ESRB M 17+ game or is it more of a guide? Australia doesn't have anything above +15 so we just tend to ban anything higher (I know, wtf).

It varies by country. Here in Sweden it's more of a "suggestion" rather than a strict rule. If a 12 years-old got a hold of GTA IV in The States, on the other hand, there'd be hell to pay for the poor employee.

It does effect us all though - because the ESRB's decision on games are made on an international scale as the game must have the approval to be released in The States most of the times before they can start shipping it to the rest of the world.

I HATE THE ESRB WITH A PASSION!!!!!! because of them i can't walk my happy butt over to gamestop and buy diablo 2 even though i have more than enough money the ESRB can kiss the nastiest part of some old fat lady who never showers and smells like decaying cats ass!

well its about time. who didnt see that one coming. frankly, i would be dissapointed if it got anything less than M. but i agree with Tsuyu, people should not be told what they can and cant buy. and as far as children go, its up to the parents to control what their kids are exposed to. if i ever have kids i will totally let em play M games.

actually im thinking they wont turn the screen black this time. it would be funny if they dont atleast xD. come on its rated M give us everything!!! xD sure u can hide under the covers but nobody likes a black screen.

ive been playing mature rated games since i was nine... my parents always trusted my judgement as to weather or not i would act out what i would see... if i ever broke that vow, the game would be taken from me... i never broke the vow once, so i never stoped playing mature rated games lol

Lol i played DOOM and manhunt when i was 8 or something i play manhunt all the time i think it is like a comedy game :P throwing fridges on the heads of those hunters :P

That`s exactly what I wanted to say.
We want at least Sims 2-like scenes in Fable 2.

I will be consuming alcohol when im playing it as well as consuming it in the game so it applies to me. :lol:

I'm surprised that many people don't know about the ESRB.

I've hated them since the days of the original Playstation. You can't even rent a T rated game without the proper ID if you look younger than 13.

But now that I am 18, it doesn't really bother me as much.

On topic, Fable was rated M with pretty much the same reasons as Fable 2. No surprise there.

I'm glad to hear that.:)

I was thinking, in America, there's a lot of sue happy people, who have blamed, games for the actions of certain young people, who have gone to their schools, and actually shot, and killed a lot of children. They blamed their actions on games. Maybe that's why, there's such a strict setting, her?:unsure: We've put medal detectors, in a lot of schools. It's so sad, what's happening.:(

If American schools had school uniforms (I hate them though) then there would be allot less gun/knife crime as people cant enter the school without being noticed, but America basically shot is self when they legalised guns...all those years ago. Most shootings in school occur cause of people from the outside getting in the school. Fable in the UK is a 12+ .... I think

Only private and religious schools, have uniforms. Freedom of expression. Not to be able to wear designer clothes, would drive the American children nuts.:P

On another note, one of the incidences, the kid just walked into the school, with guns, shooting. Uniform or not, it still would have happened.:(
