heh heh, reminds me of when my friend and i would be sarcastic about game ratings. whats that game you got there son? hmmm..... rated m huh? lets see, violence, ok, sex, thats always good, sudgestive theams, alright, language? well its no worse than what you hear from me, whats this? alcohol?!?! Im sure, but i remember when I first spelled it out i was like, who the hell names a rock hits...
And then i spelled out the vulgar version of feces and then was attacked.

It varies by country. Here in Sweden it's more of a "suggestion" rather than a strict rule. If a 12 years-old got a hold of GTA IV in The States, on the other hand, there'd be hell to pay for the poor employee.

It does effect us all though - because the ESRB's decision on games are made on an international scale as the game must have the approval to be released in The States most of the times before they can start shipping it to the rest of the world.

OHH NOOO i feel bad for the dude that sold me GTA IV... I think the dude was new though cuz ive never seen him at GameStop before...

Well, I'm from Australia and the rating system here is worse than most other countries, simply because you guys can have 18+ games but Australia just bans them or reduces them to MA15+. So basically once your past 15 you can get any game out because nothing is ever over MA15+, and since I know for sure Fable II is coming out in Australia (EB has a dummy box ) then I'm assuming it's MA15+ which means i can get it pretty easily now.
