I saw this on The Escapist forums, and was curious about what your first weapon in a video game was?

Shoes, Fists, Will Smith, any weapon, no matter how weird or ineffective.

Mine I remember vividly. It was a punch from Batman on my Sega Megadrive against one of Jokers goons in the Chemical factory. Very old school ! Batman ftw ! The batarang was deployed shortly afterwards

My favourite was Samus' cannon on the game boy colour, I must've been about 6. The gladiator would've been when I was about 4. I didn't complete any games or even get past the first level but damnit, I had fun.

Mine was Sonic's spin attack, in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Genesis. I was probably about four.

My 1st game was either Tarzan or Hercules, Tarzan I think, he threw green balls, or whatever

The first game I ever played (that was in any way violent) was probably Mario on the NES. The first true weapon I used in a game was probably the whip from Castlevania on the Super Nintendo, at the time I was frightened by that game. :lol:

It actually took me until last year to realise that when I was playing Sonic 2 two player as Tails, that I wasn't actually doing anything.

My little brother used to run out of the room and cry when Sonic the Hedgehog was about to drown. Good times, good times.

When I first got my N64 for Christmas I was playing DK64 and I was so amazed by the incredible graphics (zomg 3 dimensions!!!!) that I freaked out when I made it to the first boss. I started screaming at my brother something along the lines of "OMG turn it off! TURN IT OFF!! I'm gonna die!!!" and rushed over to hit the power button before the scary monster could come out of the TV and do me any harm.

Eventually I learned that dieing in a video game had no affect on me whatsoever. Eventually. After that the next lesson was that it didn't matter how many times I failed in my objective, the bad guys would never take over the in game world, kill my character, and make the game unplayable.
