GCSE Results

Untitlresulltsed.jpg

So close to A*s. I'll be getting the rest of my results later on at school, these were just ones examined by a board who posts their results online.

I have to say though, if I get more results like this I'll be a happy bunny considering I was very depressed and distracted at the time leading up to and taking the exams.

Re: GCSE Results

G? What the hell grade is a G? They best grade I could get at my school was an A, there was no A+. My school only had A,B,C,D, and F. B,C, and D had + and - though. But all anyone ever had to do was pull off a D- and they were all set to graduate. With low standards like that, most kids where not motivated to do much better so they just scraped by on D's. And the school lets them. ****ing assembly line. But other kids figured out that they pretty much have to do nothing other than show up to class, and they will pass. Teacher are releuctant to give F's because it makes them and the school look bad. Since no child gets left behind, schools give the kids a free pass and a free diploma. So many idiots walk out of those doors with a diploma in hand, its disgusting. And the poor stupid kids don't get to find out how badly they screwed up until its too late. When they realize nobody will hire them, and no college will accept them with their D- GPA. And even if they do manage to find a mediocre job, they are too stupid and lazy to be alble to hold on to it. But that's enough about living in the state with the poorest education standards and lowest funded schools in the USA, including its territories.

Good job on your exams. I wish you success in your future.

Thanks, I wish you success in your future too.

GCSEs are exams taken around 15/16 and anything under a C is considered a fail but technically anything but a "U" (Ungraded/Unmarked) is a pass. I guess it is just different between our systems.

In my school, a U was a "citizenship grade" (behavior). There where only two possible grades you could get, Satisfactory (S) and Unsatisfactory (U). All classes gave an academic and citizenship grade, so the delinquent kids would have report cards that read like this.

F U
F U
F U
F U
F U
F U
F U
F U

Re: GCSE Results

Nice :P

I just got the rest of my results:

English: A
English Literature: A
Foreign Language (Spanish): A
History: A
OCR Level 2 National First Certificate in ICT: A*, A, A
Mathematics: A
Religious Education: A
Biology: A
Chemistry: B
Physics: C

Quite happy with that.

Not to make excuses, but we had a separate teacher for Chemistry and Physics to Biology, and to cut a long story short; she was crap. Everyone did badly in the C&P of science

Re: GCSE Results

I didn't do that well.

7 GCSE's - B/C
2 GCSE's - D's
1 GCSE - G (Welsh.. It doesn't count)

I got chav grades.

Re: GCSE Results

Nah - chav grades are all written in crayon with half the letters backwards and an ASBO/positive chlamydia test ;)

Congrats to all so far - isn't it wonderful that by the time you hit 21 those grades won't mean a damn thing? Beautiful country we live in

Congratulations for your sister, and on the bright side, GCSEs are worthless in later life.

One of my enemies got FUDGE on their results. I couldn't stop laughing for days.

What is a 'G' grade? And if you are able to get an 'F' then what is a 'U'?

A 'G' is the lowest grade you can get and 'U' means ungraded/unmarked, which is a fail. The grades go:

A*
A
B
C
D
E
F
G
U

Re: GCSE Results

When I did my GCSEs, the markscheme went like this:

A*
A
B
C
D
E
U

As you can see, F and G are non-existent. I thought 'F' was the American equivalent of 'U' meaning 'Fail'.
