Graphics Card

XFX Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5, runs all games out now at max settings with high fps (with the exception of a couple), though for some games it makes them run a little bit faster than intended (Fallout 3, TESIV, New Vegas) so you'll have to turn Vsync on to fix that. A nice card for the price, but it's of mid-end class as of now, far better cards out there that run circles around it. For some new games you'll have a very noticeable fps dip if you crank up the AA, though for others (Sims 3, Tomb Raider: Underworld, Street Fighter IV, etc) it runs just as smooth (60frames and up) with & without AA.

Got it last year for little over $100 at Newegg.com with some help from Steve. By next year I'll have to either upgrade it or just get a second one for crossfire.

Along with it, running 8GB of RAM and my Phenom II quad-core CPU.

I'm rocking an EVGA GTX 570 HD.

It runs smoothly and I've thrown all my games at it in max graphics/settings, and I've never had a single hiccup yet.

In-fact, here's a Just Cause 2 video I made just to show off the graphics cards smoothness and power (Mind you, Just Cause 2 has one of the most amazing graphics and some serious GPU stresser).

Here's my video:

According to Steam: Intel(R) G45/G43 Express Chipset

....yeahhhhhh....

Intel. That is all.
(lets just say it can run guildwars, torchlight, old gtas, and barley half life 2 and portal 1) oh yeh. its good.

*crys about having integrated graphics*

I run a HIS 5670 1gb, I like this card because it was a reasonable price and is great for my current needs, plus has some power in it if I decide to start mid range gaming or video editing.

One of my Rigs in 2008 had two 8800GTX's in SLI.

The 8800 cards in general were AMAZING.

Haha, **** you would have been able to destroy any game you played man. I think my dad has two of the Radeon equivalents of the 8800 in SLI. His machine is a beast and a half.

Oh, definitely. It was pretty beast.

As for your dads Rig, I'm sure it was just as beast. To be honest, I favor Radeon cards over nVidia cards, because if you game as much as I do, you notice a big difference in graphics (A lot of people claim there is no difference between graphics in nVidia and Radeon, but there is - Radeon colors pop out more, giving more of a "Realistic" feel, where nVidia graphics are a tad bit more "cartoonish"; However, nVidia runs smoother than Radeon, most likely from the rendering). I just use nVidia most of the time, because it gets better Benchmark scores.

I basically just choose whichever graphics card my dad gives me when he upgrades. I'm just glad he's a nerd, and upgrades frequently.
