So I started getting problems again.

It completely froze my computer, screen went black, and keyboard became unresponsive. I restarted and my computer told me "Windows Encountered an Error" and I looked at the information.
It said my Video card made my computer freeze.

so I decided to give it a go and update my Graphics Card Drivers

My drivers are now up to date (8/21/2007)

So we'll see how this goes.

Nope. Still freezes, Oh well I've done all I can think of.

Updated Graphics Drivers
Reinstalled Graphics Card
Verified Half Life 2 Game Files

I'm at a loss.

Tried reverting to some older drivers and seeing if that works? Some specs are really temperamental when all updated together.

Perhaps I'll throw that Sound card in considering your on board Video was about to go I might as well check the sound as well...


The Video card is still under warantee . so if we find out that is is that We'll get a new one. ^_^

Wouldn't me uninstalling and re-installing count as Old Drivers?

Have you tried rolling back the drivers.
Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't do that

I have no drivers to "roll back" too.

And I think I already found the problem.
My Half life 2: Episode 1 Data must be corrupted.

I just played half life 2 and it ran fine.

Half life e: Ep 1's sky is black and everything looks awful.

So I'm ganna reinstall my game. ^_^

I thought you said you updated the drivers

Anytime you update drivers Windows keeps a copy of the old drivers so that if you go back into the properties of the device you can choose roll back drivers from the Drivers tab.
