haha fair play ^ anyways moving on i realy dont like the idea of jetpacks purple but im sure some people will like them i think what bungie are tryng to do is attract a broarder audience

I think they are just trying to spice up the old Halo formula so it doesnt just feel like a renewed Halo 3 multiplayer. They are trying to seemingly add some more modes they think people will find fun and some new elements to that too.

Re: Halo Reach

I think it will not be an awfull game noor a good one somwere inbetween but the new modes such as invasion will indded spice it up

Looking to me like it will be better than Halo 2 and 3 which is a good thing. No Halo will surpass the feeling of the first one because it was so 'fresh'.

Re: Halo Reach

Looking well forward to this, hope it is a masterpiece, fools wish: Silent Cartographer MP map? (Halo PC flashbacks) Nostalgia is setting in, I need my CE fix soon to hold me off until I can reach for Reach.

I hear that. Ever since Halo 1 they have claimed each sequel to be just as revolutionary and 'epic', but they just don't capture the same feeling at all. Which is why I say the games are both over-hyped by the developer/fans, and overrated in the end.

Re: Halo Reach

I see where you're coming from - however I truly believe this game will be more awesome than Halo 2 and 3 combined.

Re: Halo Reach

For gameplay purposes, I believe that the rolls, sprint, jetpack, assassinations and new weapons are awesome.

Chronologically though... it really bugs me. These are Spartan-III's, which are weaker than Spartan-II's (John-117). Why can these Spartan-IIIs sprint, use jetpacks and roll while a Spartan-II with Mark VI (these Spartan-IIIs have Mark V!) armour can't do all of this?

Another thing that bugs me: Spartan-II's supposedly have enhanced vision to the point of night-vision. Why do they need flashlights? Why do ODST have the VISR but MJOLNIR Mark VI doesn't?

Did I mention that the Mark V armour that the guys on Reach have includes an ELLIPTICAL RADAR? Three dimensions, show a sphere around you.

I'd personally use a needle rifle than a Needler and Covenant Carbine separately. Wouldn't you like the possibility of taking headshots or exploding the enemy with one single rifle? Only difference is that the needles don't track. So what (unless the needles of the needle gun are slow...)?

I'm just gonna be having this feeling throughout playing Halo: Reach of "Shouldn't the guy who saved the galaxy from the Flood and Covenant Loyalists have this?"

Refer to Star Wars Episode 1 for your answer to this. Chronologically everything should have been lower tech and basic yet the ships and lightsabers seemed more advanced. Explanation is that over the years the directors/developers have access to better technology and ideas they couldnt get working properly or didnt have the time to balance or complete before release. So they include them in sequels but in certain cases (such as this one) prequels as a way of 'fixing' old issues or to expand on something. Might look out of place and not fit but its been done due to access to new technology, knowledge and tools of the creators.

Spartan-IIIs don't use MJOLNIR, they use SPI. And Master Chief didn't take part in any of the battle for reach, He was at a space station for the whole time. Read the books for gods sake, or at least go on Halopedia.

Re: Halo Reach

@ Dark Drakan: I understand the technology and that lot, but I'm looking at it from a Halo-universe point of view.

@ White Knight: These Spartan-IIIs are on Reach. Why the hell wouldn't they have Mark V? Their armour has shields; SPI didn't have that. Also, did I mention anything about Master Chief taking part in the Battle of Reach? No. Read before you decide to start flaming me. Stop assuming everybody else knows nothing about what they're talking about.

They HAVE to make new things, would you buy the same game five times? Also: BUNGIE makes the Canon as they go! Thirdly: These S-IIIs have a special purpose in which they have access to shields and other equipment, if that isn't the case S-IIIs also scavenge! They might have found an Elite or S-II shield system and scavenged it.

Also it was implied you were talking about the Chief based on the last part you posted.

Re: Halo Reach

Master Chief was given Mark VI technology; in my opinion, a spherical radar is more sophisticated than the cylindrical one provided in Master Chief's Mark V AND VI armour sets. Of course, the Mark V in Reach doesn't have the biofoam... whatever.

I was saying that it's off for the Mark V beta suits worn by Noble Team (it doesn't matter if they're Spartan-IIs or IIIs [Jorge is the only Spartan-II, btw]) to be better (except for the biofoam) than the Mark SIX armour given for Master Chief.

I understand that Master Chief did not take part in the Battle of Reach, but how is that relevant? (Specifically for White Knight) You randomly pulled that out and used it out of context for no reason other than to flame me.

Once again, I speak from a Halo-universe point of view. As I've stated in my first post, I understand that these are all for gameplay purposes and are totally acceptable from that sort of standpoint. As technology advances, games taking place in a earlier time period than previously released games will always have aspects that feel like they should have been in the previous games...

But aren't. Which is my whole point.

Re: Halo Reach

Did I not state that several times already...?

Anyways, I'm still hyped about Halo: Reach, but I've decided to put a new computer and games on the waiting list; #1 is a new guitar. I also won't be able to play the beta due to my lack of a hard drive.
