Harry Potter-Love or Hate?

Now, with all the hype of the upcoming HP movie and book, I wanted to start this thread and see what you guys think. In my experience, people usually either love Harry Potter, or hate it. So feel free to...erm...unleash Just FYI: I personally love HP

Harry potter rocks. I have all the books and movies. I cant wait for the new game to come out on the 360.

I just hate them... they're not my "cup of tea" as it were...
the idea of a story about some kid and his school chums learning life lessons just doesn't appeal to me...
I like the fantasy genre, just not those particular books/movies...
I hate them with a fiery passion that consumes my very being and that's just all there is to it...

LOVE!!!!:w00t: I've been a fan ever since the first book came out! And yes I am a huge fan! I love the movies and everything, although like any other fan the books are of course ten times better. I've got the games, and I am awaiting the next one, plus Deathly Hallows, and I'm going to see Order of the Phoenix opening day!^_^

I remember talking with this gal who works at Petsmart a couple weeks back and I was wearing my order of the phoenix shirt, bought at Hot Topic(the one with voldy on it), and she liked it and she was like "you know if only people just read the books and stop thinking that's it's childish and whatever. They would really enjoy it because it's such a wonderful series." Still I can understand those who don't like it, which is sad.:'(

Me?! I can't wait and I really don't want the series to end.

I can't say I hate it, as well as love it. I don't read that books, but I'm sure they're good; I somewhat like the movies, they're entertaining at the least. Though, in the beginning I can say that Potter was a little fruit, as well as anybody else.

Okay, this is a very minor spoiler, but you know Dumbledore's brother Aberforth?

He's the barman at the Hog's Head. You know how it always says that the barman looks vaguely familiar? And he was at Dumbledore's funeral. And Dumbledore mentioned that Aberforth got in trouble for practicing innappropriate charms on a goat. What does the Hog's Head smell like? Goats.

The books I enjoy but the movies suck with the most suckability ever created. Badly cast, badly directed, bad bad bad bad EVERYTHING!!

I still don't see how Rowling is going to be able to resolve everything satisfactorily though...and it's getting a little too dark for a children's book, in my opinion. I know she wrote them with a view to one growing up with the books as the characters age, but it never works that way and the thought of 8 year olds reading about torturing people into madness is a little unsettling...

Looking forward to reading the final instalment - I'll do the usual thing of buying the book, reading it in a day and then probably return it and buy something else...
