Well, as they are still classed as children's books the people who make the films are in that awkward place of introducing new themes like relationships and romance along with more complex situations in a film that those under the age of 12 can still go and see as they have done previously. Goblet of Fire was the first real murder situation and they managed ok, but as things progress, they will find it hard to make it accessible to kids. After all, the characters are now in their mid-teens and it is becoming apparent in the texts that it's more "who's going out with whom?" in many places rather than playing fun games together...
