@Combat: Practice. Remember: Holding down X blocks. Holding down X and aiming with the control stick performs a flourish and will score more experience.

Alright thank you. Yea I know about the blocking and flourishes, I am just not too sure how to use to chain em now that I got enough Brutal Strikes or something like that to unlock em. I figured it was cause my TV was a bit older, but thank you for confirming my suspicions. Thanks for the help so far I appreciate it. Also isn't there a way to use the environment in combat, other then knocking them off a cliff. I wanna throw em against the wall and impale them.

congratulations, you found google and how to use it
by chain attacks im guessing your meaning the experience boost stuff at the end, basically if you don't get hit you gain more, if you can chain actions together, such as a meele hit, pistol shot, then a spell in a chain, you'll gain extra, but you can just do the button bashing for meele, or if you've leveled up enough with ranged, go for head-shots, that gains experience quickly and easily.

No, you hit the "X" button in a rhythmic fashion, like a beat. Don't change it. The change is that your sword trail will turn blue. And if you are going for "The Duellist" achievement, you don't actually have to hit an enemy. Just remember: press the button to an unchanging beat that corresponds to your sword hits. If the sword trail turns blue, you're doing good.
