Personally, I would tell him. I don't keep anything at all from my close friends, but maybe that's just me.

Move to California, man! It's easily accepted down here, at least in my area (I'm about and hour drive from SF, maybe that's it lol).
As I use to make my friends rofl,
He so has a I <3 San Fransisco shirt!
I'll saay!
Never straight always forward!
(in the accent I use it in, you'd have to be ridiculously gay to talk like it)

Yeah, I heard SF is very accepting of us. I remember watching something on TV about it being the town with the most openly gay people.

^What qoute is that... It is familiar... Also, why do women love that so much lol, not to be rude or whatever but I never got that... is it comfort? Like comfort about the sex thang?
It's because they know there will be no sexual tension between them so they can talk to them and do anything with them without worrying about it.

And being bisexual isn't as big a deal as being gay, because you still like girls. If he is your friend, he will understand and look past it.

I mean, I'm gay but I've never told anyone.

It definitely does have more gays than anywhere else. I'm not really sure how well-known the Castro is, but it's a district of SF that is known for everybody living there being gay. Not to mention that people are still trying to get proposition 8 overturned (it banned gay marriage) because it was unconstitutional. Even if it doesn't get overturned, I think everything will turn out okay anyway. The world progressively gets more liberal, and just like African-Americans with slavery and segregation, gays will eventually get all the same rights as everyone else, and become widely accepted. The only problem is, I'm just not sure how long that's going to take.

On a somewhat separate note, if you don't mind me asking, what religion are you? I'm asking because most major religions frown upon homosexuality. As for me, I'm a full-blown Atheist! W00T Atheism!

Re: How Am I Suppose to Tell Him?

Homosexuality will never become truly accepted in a country with such strong Christian beliefs that America has, sad but true. As long as the right-wing fanatical Christian part of the government remains, it aint happening.

Re: How Am I Suppose to Tell Him?

I'm not so sure about that, Tsuyu. Obviously the majority of Americans are christian, but Atheism and Agnosticism are growing. 16% of Americans are Atheist/Agnostic, or do not affiliate themselves with any religion. That's a HUGE minority. It's bigger than the percentage of Americans that are gay/bi, black, Asian, Hispanic, Jewish, Mormon, or Muslim. I'm not saying that the entire country will legalize gay marriage or even become totally accepting of gays any time soon, or even within our lifetimes, but I am confident that it will happen with the growing number of people moving away from major religions. Not to mention that there are a few branches of christianity that were more recently established that are accepting of homosexuality.

I am too. I wouldn't make a good Christian anyhow, I'd be repenting every fifteen minutes, lawl.

The hardcore Christian right will never do it. They borderline the Islamic fanatics when it comes to being nutcases, though they'll never admit it. And these people are backing the Republican Party so they'll always have influence at "the top level" so to speak. So what Joe the Average American believes won't matter in the long run.

Yes, you will most likely not see people being treated worse in schools or in the street for being gay, but you'll never see all the states legalizing gay marriage, for example.

Also, on a lighter note: Atheism sucks. Its soooo 1999! Apatheism is where it is at!
