I really hate the differentiation between those two things. I still don't get it at all. I don't get the point of just asking someone out on a date and having no intentions to be their boyfriend/girlfriend. I also don't think that somebody would just be your boyfriend/girlfriend right from the start, unless you both established that you liked each other, not just one person liking the other and asking them out. I don't really have any problems asking a girl out or telling her how I feel about her, but if someone wants to explain to me the difference between 'dating' and being 'boyfriend and girlfriend', it'd be very helpful.

Well, "asking someone out" in the bar and meaning you want to commit to a serious relationship is pretty strange. So yeah, there needs to be a differentiation! :lol:

If by your definition of asking a girl out means just to go on a date I don't find that hard at all.

Getting the nerve to ask them to be your girlfriend is another thing.

I guess I should have phrased my question better. How exactly would you go from dating to becoming 'boyfriend and girlfriend'? I've only had 1 girlfriend, and we both liked each other, we started dating, and we just started calling ourselves boyfriend and girlfriend after a somewhat short period of time. There was nothing that even came close to a discussion about it.

I'm not so sure if I agree with that. Asking her wouldn't exactly be lame in my eyes, but more awkward and weird. It seems to me that it would also kind of make you seem needy and desperate.

Gay is easily the biggest insult for anything. Gay meaning "Stupid" or "retarded" other than actually homosexual.

Asking girls out by text just means you have no balls.. At all.

Responses will range from "But I'm already your girlfriend silly" to "No".

You wouldn't know it going out with my ex. I tried to tell her the problems I had with our relationship, and she didn't do sh*t. That's pretty much why I broke up with her.

But I guess if I'm going to ask a girl to be my GF, or ask her if she is my GF, I need to figure out the right way to word it.

I have a gay friend, homosexual one, and he is far smarter then most of people
I know.

As matter of balls thing, it's persons decision how, when and why he is going
to ask her/him about something....and what makes you a judge when it comes to this things ?
Just by saying that gay is stupid and/or retarded you show how actually you have no clue about
what you just said.
What if your fav. friend, friend from childhood would be gay.......you would say he is retarded ?

^ No he meant tha tpeople use "You are gay" as in, "You are Stupid/Retarded" Thats how MOST people use it these days, He wasen't saying Gay people ARE Retarded.

thanks a lot guys, your contributions... are helpful sometimes. ill get to know her really well before i decide. btw she is kinda tall, between skinny and average. brunette. thts all you getting :P . Never going to try texting thts just not normal.
