I ****ing hate Father's Day

My dad and my brother opened his presents without me when I was asleep. I wake up later having completyely forgotten it's father's day, go down and have breakfast, nobody mentiosn anything. Five minutes ago I remembered, ran into the house ot my brother like "OH **** WE FORGOT FATHER'S DAY" and he's ****ing gloating at me about how I missed everything. I haven't even had a chance to wish Dad a happy father's day or give him a hug because he's gone out. I feel really ****ing guilty even though I know it's not ym fault.

Nah, I'll find him when he comes back and give him a hug. I just can;t believe my brother did that though

Don't sweat. It's not your fault, so don't feel guilty. If he's a real father he wont care that much anyway.

Just remember that Father/Mother/Chtulhu/Whatever's Day is just capitalistic bull anyhow. I've never cared for these days, I try to make sure the people around me know I care about them on everyday basis instead.

Since when is thanking your father and/or mother for giving you life and shaping you considered capitalistic?

It's not Christmas, they don't get tons of presents if any presents at all, it's about thanking them for taking care of you and not always in a money spending way.

If you truly want to thank your parents, take the time and do so on an everyday basis rather than on these stupid "holidays" invented by stores to hawk more stupid crap to you, such as special teddybears with stupid outfits that say stupid things when you squeeze their stupid paw.

I'm pretty sure your parents will appreciate a random hug once in a while a lot more.

Who buys a stuffed animal for fathers day? In my family my dad and my step-dads family get together for Brunch every year to celebrate fathers day. It's not like they get presents or anything, maybe something they need such as a lamp or a screwdriver, something that they or we would have bought for them anyway if fathers day hadn't been around.

#I bought my dad a stuff teddy that said "I'm a docotr who fan" and some other crap sooo yeah.

I agree. It's about thanking the people who brought you into this world.

I side with Tsuyu. These holidays are just designed to get money out of gullable people who think that if they buy a card and a stuffed teddy bear for their parents it will show how much they mean to them.

Christmas originally was a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, a Christian holiday of which people would exchange presents (which used to be something like a boiled sweet and tin whistle, believe it or not), representing the three wise men. Now it has all be exacerbated and blown out of proportion. Now Christmas is about how much money you can scrounge from anyone so you can buy that new game you've been wanting for ages.

There is no emotion behind these holidays any more. You are basically trying to spend money one day a year for the most part, to "show" that you love your mummy and daddy or whatever.

As Tsuyu said, if you want to show someone that you care, do it on a day to day basis. There isn't any point in these holidays full stop, let alone if for the rest of the year you are going to be your normal, lazy and slightly inconsiderate self.

I'm with Tsuyu and Urahara on this one. My family never has been big on celebrating Father's Day (or Mother's Day, for that matter), and instead encouraged us to love our parents at all times.

I do try to do a little extra for my parents on their respective days, though. Like today, I helped my father repair a fence that had been damaged recently.

Little actions like that show you care a lot more than a card.

Well my dad's dead, and I just get some card for my mom on Mother's day...
We aren't very big into holidays, especially useless card holidays, birthday and Christmas are about it, even then we sometimes ignore them.
