It was about 10:00 PM, approximately two and a half hours ago. I was in the car with FableFreak and our friend Anthony. We were nearing a train trestle that went over the road, and we saw a fire truck parked under it with some extra lights on in the back. We saw that they were pointing their flashlights upward, and so we looked to see what they were pointing at as we passed by. We saw a body tangled up in some of the trestle's lower beams. Two legs and an arm were visible just from passing by. I honestly thought I would be desensitized enough to not be bothered by something like that, but seeing things like that in a movie, in a game, or on the internet is completely different from seeing it in real life. Before seeing that, I assumed I would come home later, get a snack, and either watch a movie or play Fable 3. Instead, I got home, and just sat on my bed for about a half hour to an hour with this feeling of, well, to be honest, I'm not sure how to describe it. I suppose I was freaking out a little bit, but to a much lesser extent.

Now, why did I post this? Maybe to get it off my chest? I don't really know. I don't even know what kinds of responses I'm going to be getting, but I just felt like posting it. Do what you will with what I've said.

yeah, I know how you feel to some extent - it's freaky when you see someone dead. I've seen two and I don't fancy seeing another.

The one that did get to me for a while was this guy in a traffic accident - we saw him lose control, spin across the entire motorway and then smash into the crash barrier at the side. His engine was actually partially ripped out of the bonnet of the car, it was so hard. His airbag was lying in the next lane and we pulled over onto the hard shoulder and there was glass everywhere. When we got to the guy looked like he was sleep but his face was all smashed up, he'd been sick and he wasn't breathing...everyone had slowed down to stare so there was no noise apart from the guy's car horn sounding continuously. It was kind of creepy...

Either way, I didn't go back to work that afternoon - I'd just been to a burial, then saw that and just thought "ok, I'm done with dead people for today". Took me a couple of days to calm down properly - but it really bugged me...

I've never seen a dead person.

Only ever been to one funeral

All my grandparents are still alive

Man... I'm in for a rough ride :(

Got a couple of friends in Afghanistan too.

Can't imagine what it must feel like

Well... ****, I meant to edit my post, but I guess I replied to it :/

"Hi past Simon! Look at the table in front of you - there's a bag of chips
Now look inside...
IT'S EMPTY!
HAHAHAHAHA! serves you right for double posting in the future!"

Well I've found a fair few people dead in work, I work in a retirement home so don't go thinking I'm full of **** just yet. First time did freak me out as I get to know these people quite well, but yeah internet, games/movies wont make you numb to real life bodies.

Theres nothing that can prepare you for it, what made it worse for me for the first time was me thinking they were asleep, but I couldn't wake them up told one of the nurses, and a very bad timed 'morbid' joke was placed......

Nurse: Are you sure she hasn't gne to beddie byes for good?
Me: I'm not sure... you best go check?

Err and yeah, there were no jokes after that, nurse went running.

You work at a retirement home? You just won a helluva alot more respect from me. Cheers man.

Anyhow, unnatural deaths I've only seen people hit by cars and one lung cancer uncle, other than that I've been with my grandparents but that's about it.

^Damn, that's what I wanted to say, but then I forgot.

How are you feeling now, Necro? Are you alright?

It's also very offsetting to be at the wake for one of your best friends. He's laying there in the coffin and you totally swear he's going to sit right up and say surprise......

....

....but it never happens. He's right there, he seems so real, yet you realize that all the tears around you are real too. Nobody is pulling a fast one on you. And he lies there, gone, with you still here and wondering why.

Sucks, man. I can't imagime what it's like, even after seeing much of the same thing in movies. Well, glad to hear you're Ok :)

When I was about 14 I saw a guy get hit by a car while crossing a busy, 4-lane road. I'm not sure if he died, but just seeing that shook me up for a couple days. Every once in awhile a reminder of your mortality slaps you right in the face. Scary stuff...

Try waking up and going to the bathroom and seeing EMT's trying to bring your father back.....at 9 years old.:(

Well, that's ****ed up. My neighbor just hung herself (less than 10-15 feet away from me, only thing between us was a wall) and I saw her as they took her out of the house...

...Well, I can now join you, OP.

I would assume that that's worse than what I saw. I can't imagine seeing somebody you know in that state. I mean, my aunt's funeral was an open casket funeral, but I was only seven at the time, and she lived on the other side of the country, so I had only seen her three or four times.
