Increased Upload Limit?

Probably me just complaining here again, but the upload limit is a bit small, and I have been having to link my download to FableTLCMod, and I think it would be easier if it could just be uploaded here, and you wouldn't have to go through the trouble of clicking another link.

Damn whiny complaints, eh? :lol:

This has a lot to do with the server and storage space.

Might be something the staff could discuss to see if something can be done without having to much of an impact on the servers etc.

I will do some magic and increase .rar and .zip extension files to 5MB. Zip up your mods into a folder and upload it that way.

And if you understand all that then you're a genius - I just type what Steve tells me to

Makes sense. .zip and .rar are a way of compressing file size.

And 5MB is enough to do almost anything. 50 large textures, 6 very detailed creature models or 30-50 clothing or weapon models, everything in the game.bin 5 times over, all of that before compressing. It's also 3 entire tng sets after compression.

The only limitation now is if anyone wanted to make a full extensive mod package, but no one's done a decent one of those in gawdknowshowlong, and even if they did they'd need to host it off-site anyway, since the size would be too ridiculously large for any site (other than file-sharing sites) to reasonably accommodate.

So yea, 5MB will do it and then some.

We could always crank it up to a higher figure, if you feel that it would further benefit modders. Please let me know what you believe would be a more appropriate limit.

Yes, the most I have had so far was maybe a few MB, about 1.3 or something. And are we allowed 2 5MB files? Or 2 files that can total up to 5MB?

I'm almost certain this has been discussed before, however, if you guys are interested I'd be more than happy to host your mods on projectego.net - and no, I don't just mean as forum attachments. I thought it might be a good idea to add an extra section to the main site, which would be dedicated to provided some of the higher quality Fable: TLC mods available. We could even write up a neat little synopsis for each mod to give visitors the general gist of what it is that those mods altered or added to the game. Who knows.

Full credit would, of course, be given to the author of each mod. Perhaps we could figure out some additional benefits for the Modders usergroup, too.

Edit: Sorry, S-Man. Didn't notice your post there. You can upload as many files as you wish, provided they are not above 5MB in total. Basically, you could upload 5MB archives over and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again. Until you die of old age, if you wish. I wouldn't really recommend it, though. Hope this answered your question!

Sweet, right now I'm having some freak obsession with recolouring right now, and sometimes the file size gets fairly big, and I was stuck linking it to FableTLCMod. :lol:

Maybe you'll get some better mods out of me. :shifty:
