Just me, or does Fable III feel like a 'WIP'?

Tyrant, stop antagonising him.

Thank you Arseface... man, I wish you hadn't named yourself that. I feel like I'm insulting you whenever I say your name.

Of course you're not. Ol' Grim used to be good fun at the least. You're just... trying too hard.

Trying too hard to not get into trouble? Yes. Now, are you going to contribute to the thread? Or is this what you've been reduced to?

And the dog is pretty useless. I mean, the loot in the game so far is pretty bad IMO.
ikr i cant stand when my dog barks for like 10 minutes straight and i finally go dig it up and its like 5 gold, half of the time my dog just takes up space

:/ Wreckager?
Nope this is my first and only account. I wish I could rant with pretty words but thats way beyond my capability's :(
I meant the part you quoted, so that was for GrimWhim, or MaleficRaven...

How many emeralds can there POSSIBLY be, buried in the backyards of Albion?

Let us pave the streets of Bowerstone with silver and emeralds!
and the very rare 500 gold coins found while digging.... and when i say rare i mean like i have dug up only two like this and i have beat the game twice...

Just stop trying to bait each other FFS.

I did read your previous post Arse, I just did'nt give it importance.

You should listen to advice like that, because ignoring it is only going to get you in trouble. You know why? Because antagonising people is against the rules.

I think they may have been a little too excited about doing DLC and well you can figure out the rest. Possibly.

lol thats still no reason to give us an unfinished game
I merely gave an explanation (well, a possible explanation). I didn't say the game wouldn't have been much better if they had kept working on for another year. Although to be honest, despite lack of side quests that are not just "get me this item" I loved the game. The story was good and all that, after all.

yeah the story was good i just feel like if they had worked on it longer maybe we would have got a more refined game not a game thats like "ok, go here, do this... ok the games over with..."

I really enjoyed the game on my first play through but the game felt like it was released to early. I really enjoyed some of the new features like the new menu systems but it needs improvements. I also like the new spell gloves but we needed more spells. I liked the way the new emote systems works but again it needs improvements, like being able to choose witch emote you want to use.
Some of the things i really hated was the dog. It was a buggy pain in the ass. I also hated the being a king it could of been so much more. It just felt like it was tacted on the end of the game and playing as the king felt like you had no real say in how things went, just a bunch of yes or no questions.

What I mostly disliked about Fable 3 is how much they seem to have dumbed down the gameplay since the first one. In the first game you were actually in danger of getting killed a few times until you figured out how to handle your hero.

Fable 3 just feels like it lost many things that made Fable what it is. The hero feels a lot less powerful . In Fable TLC I felt like a god, but in 2 and 3 that feeling of omipotence is gone. In TLC Jack calls the hero a puppet and gets his butt kicked, in 2 and 3 it feels like we are a puppet and nobody's butt gets kicked (I am looking at you, Theresa and Reaver).

I think that's mostly what I miss. That feeling of satisfaction you get when you get even with the people who have wronged you. In Fable TLC, Thunder, Whisper, Maze, Jack (all heroes) and all the others who have brought you down get their just punishement by your hands. In Fable 2 there's just Lucien and Reaver, and frankly I ended up feeling sorry for Lucien. He was just a man driven to insanity by grief. Reaver gets no retribution for what he did to you (sell you to Lucien and steal your youth, if you choose that path).

In Fable 3 there is even less source of satisfaction. Logan is again just a man, not a hero. And the Crawler was introduced way too late into the game for me to feel anything when I killed it. There was no build-up to the threat, just a brief introduction. Jack of Blades was a threat (nameless at first, but still a threat) to the hero from day one.

They need to bring back that feeling of a dark presence hovering above you, ready to swoop down when you least expect it. Defeating that darkness in the end feels glorious. They tried with Lucien, but again, it's just a crazy man with fancy machines. His commandant was scarier. They tried again with the Crawler, but it came so far out of nowhere that I didn't feel all that threatened.

Sorry for the wall of text.

I haven't read the thread in it's entirety, and I cbf.

Look, Fable 3 as a standalone game isn't awful, and doesn't need half the **** it's getting. Sure, it's awfully buggy, but so was Fable 2 on release. Sure, it doesn't live up to Fable TLC, but neither did Fable 2. Sure, there lacks a certain atmosphere that made Fable 'Fable', but guess what? That's right folks, so did Fable 2.

What I'm saying is that Fable 3 is no worse than Fable 2, yet gets alot more hate. This is because Fable 2 was extremely popular (I don't know why, I thought it was ****.) and so loads of people said, 'Hey, Fable 2 is an awesome game.' but were then let down by Fable 3.

Grim, your post on the front page about true loyal fans hating Fable 3 is completely untrue. True, diehard fans will have realised by now that Fable is full of empty promises and too much hype, and would therefore have steeled themselves for the **** that would be coming next. I'll bet that 40 % of the people in this thread haven't played the first Fable.

That's the point though. Fable III is to much like Fable II to deserve that extra I. A good sequel builds upon the established story, and in the case of interactive media, extends and improves the way you interact with it. Fables II and III did none of those.

A game can't be judged to be good because it's not worse than it's predecessor.

Pick any game series and people will compare the early games to the later ones. Just go to any Fallout or The Elder scrolls forum.
