That's the point though. Fable III is to much like Fable II to deserve that extra I. A good sequel builds upon the established story, and in the case of interactive media, extends and improves the way you interact with it. Fables II and III did none of those.

A game can't be judged to be good because it's not worse than it's predecessor.
True, but I've stopped taking the first two games into account. Fable 3 doesn't feel like a Fable game, so I'm not treating it as one. Sure, it's upsetting that all the quirky stuff from the first game is lost, but once you accept that, it makes playing Fable 3 alot more enjoyable.

Considering it feels almost exactly the same as Fable II, statistically that makes Fable I not feel like a Fable game.

 True, but considering Fable 1 was the first, that should set the benchmark for other Fable games.

You mean considering it was the best.

True, still lacks in immersion I think though.

Plus I still think the plot's pretty lame.

Not so much lame as poorly executed. I would have liked the hero to be aware of the Crawler from the get-go (without knowing what it is) through nightmares and such.

And the lack of Reaver-mauling in this installement is just inexcusable.

Yeah, just how longer are they going to keep prolonging that narcissistic twatbag's life anyhow? It was as if Lionhead wanted their fans to be disappointed. Shame really, I was really looking forward to putting a bullet into His head as well.

Lionhead have trapped themselves by making an appealing character that everyone want's to see dead. He's funny and adds a lot of flavour to the game, but a part of that is because everyone just hates him so much. If Lionhead get rid of him, they lose a good character who gives some life to Fable, but if they keep him, everyone wants him dead.

Precisely. I know I've said this before, but in TLC every person who gives you lip can potentially get their a** kicked with expreme prejudice, Thunder and Whisper especially. Heck, we get to beat up Whisper three times! How come Reaver gets a free pass?

Even without killing him, the chance to beat him up would be nice. He could escape, but at least let us rearrange his face!

But that would ruin his charm. The thing about Reaver is he's always arrogant, and humbling him like that would ruin the character, which Lionhead doesn't want.

Yeah, I totally empathise with Your point. Like You said, one of the good things about Fable 1 was that You could settle the score with anyone who F*cked You over. That left the gamer feeling even with those who had wronged them. I don't see how Reaver manages it, honestly.

Is it me or was the point of getting gold just to buy property for being able to be the super good hero and donate them to the treasury :S and maybe a few new weapons. The previous fable games showed the importance of gold to buy food, potions, clothes/armor and weapons, unless you found an epic one, which the fable 3 didn't have at all... and the most boring part, they all looked the same. I did have alot of fun with spellweaving, but kinda missed the spells from fable 1 and 2. The thing that made fable great was the entirely different experience system: Strengh, agillity, magic and experience. Fable 3 was too simple, and felt smaller :S

Yeah, money has little value in this game. I didn't care much for the new experience system either. Why do I have to spend guild seals to be able to buy a house or make better pies? That hardly feels heroic.

About pies though, somebody posted a video on youtube of that job. If that kind of music had played during the jobs, I wouldn't have minded the grinding so much. Here it is : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfhQdIjBvg4

The jobs are just like playing guitar hero, without the music... well the lute but not as great.
