Um, what? Yes, there was slavery among a lot of African tribes, but it was a bit different from what the US did-- it wasn't racial slavery, for one thing.

Um, what? Very, very few Africans ran slave ships. Arabs and Africans did some slavetrading IN Africa (again, African slavetrading was frequently different from European and Arabic), but slavetrading ships were mostly European. The Dutch are particularly famed for it, but before the trade itself was banned US, British, Spanish, Portuguese, and just about everyone else shipped them.
