if you can slow down time sumon the undead and shoot lightning from your finger tips you would stop tanks and screw up power grids and radar, summon armys of the dead and... SLOW TIME
skill yould be used as a sniper shoot some one from like 100 miles away

Will would still be useful if you were allowed to do those kinds of things, but with the will powers from TLC and Fable 2, you'd be helpless if a tank rolled through Bowerstone.

I realize that. That's why I said skill would be the only one left. I have nothing against skill. I like all three hero disciplines, and not one more than another necessarily. I just think it wouldn't be fun or Fable-ish if there was only one discipline left, whether it be strength, skill, or will.

What, you think that a few well-placed walls of fire wouldn't really ruin a tanker's day? Trust me, armor DOES NOT LIKE flamethrowers. And they probably wouldn't be all that enthusiastic about lightning, either. And slow time or assassin rush would serve to get you by their infantry support. Could probably come up with a couple dozen more uses for the Will powers in high-tech warfare.

Strength, I admit would be less important. But still, health and toughness were part of Strength. Who wouldn't want a soldier who can take a couple billion blows to the head with an ax or rounds of rifle fire and still keep coming?

You bring up a few good points, and I now realize that this discussion is rather pointless. It all depends on who attacks first. If the tank shoots before you cast a spell, you're done. If you cast...let's say...time control, you could just keep running to different places and charging to higher levels of the spell until you've got enough time bolt behind the tank and hit it with a few fireballs.

Well, basically, yes. Infantry against armor is always a dicey proposition, even for near-immortal Hero badasses. But hey, if you can kill (do I even need to spoiler this? Maybe.)
Jack, Dragon-form Jack,
a ****ton of trolls, all the other massive monstrosities, I expect you can can deal with a big 'ol tank.

You're all going off topic. Now the topic was 'Location and Year of Fable 3' Now it's just a bunch of geek fanboys going 'You're wrong. Fail.' Instead of saying the point. All this is is nuclear warefare, besides, fable isn't going to go like that for at least 2 more games. Btw, Fable 1 takes place around the 1200-1300's, in our standards. Fable 2 has oil, and guns. It might be in the 1800's, but it seems to be like 1500's to 1700's because of the spanish having good guns in that time. Not to mention that the Chinese invented fireworks 2000 years ago.

This is a forum. Open discussion is welcome. Don't like it, **** off.

I think it's also been hinted at in interviews that it will take place in another country, be it Samarkand or Aurora (If it is a country.)

Re: Location and Year of Fable 3?

^It won't quite take place in another country, the main region will still be Albion. They've just said that other places beyond Albion will have a much bigger role in Fable 3, and you will be able to travel to them.

Re: Location and Year of Fable 3?

i think albion is the country and Aurora is the name of the planet
i was gunna say that albion might be the continent but if you look at the map it cuts off and there is still a way to go east witch might be samerkant (spelling)

Re: Location and Year of Fable 3?

Since Lionhead are making both games (and have access to the format of said saves, as well as the already existing software that reads them), I'm sure they will be able to read 100% of the information contained in the save.

The real question is how much information is contained in the saves.

Sorry I did that thing where you reply to the last post on the first page.

^If you want the changes from Fable 2 to Fable 3 to be as dramatic as the transition of TLC to Fable 2, it would have to go so far into the future that it wouldn't even be Fable anymore. You'd start seeing machine guns and tanks. Strength and Will would be obsolete. Skill would be the only Hero discipline left, and who wants that?

Well, perhaps going back in time a little could help propel the storyline..

You're right with the nuclear warfare; if you want that go and play Fallout!
But yah, Albion may evolve differently to Earth.. maybe Albion people never find radium?

I don't think so. Take a look at what the monk said once the golden acorn was planted in Oakfield:

"As new life rises, so shall we. As the seed returns to the earth, so do we all."

I do agree with that, but Fable can still go farther down the timeline than Fable 2 while still retaining its "Fable-ishness."

But as for Fable 4 and 5, a game set in between the fall of the court and TLC would be interesting, or perhaps a game set during the fall of the guild that shows how the Archon's bloodline escaped the pitchforks and torches of the people of Albion.

While I don't actually agree with him, allow me to point out that Earth and earth are not the same thing. In English they're the same, but not always/neccesarily in other languages, and definitely not neccesarily for fictitious fantasy worlds. You could, in theory, call your dirt earth even whilst living on Gartlesdakinlad.

Not even going to ask how luminescent watch faces are especially relevant to anything. (only joking. I'm sure you meant radiation. Even though I'm not sure how THAT's relevant either. Though you problably meant "nuclear power," though again I'm not sure it's terribly relevant.)

earth is also used as a synonym for dirt.
wish it was that simple :(

Re: Location and Year of Fable 3?

But that second usage for the word earth came from our planet's name. Dirt is a part of the Earth, so people started to call it earth, at least in the english language. If we all began life on Mars, we'd be using mars as a synonym for dirt.
