I really don't think the words 'cute curly' fit in with the Viking image. Vikings were supposed to look strong and intimidating, not cute and attractive.

I think it is strictly the image of Vikings he wants. Remember, the viking ideology for hair: Let it grow naturally, who cares, drink more mead. So I reckon his method is pretty damn viking.

No it is not!! He's modifying his hair and doing things to it. That isn't letting it grow naturally at all.

Decided, with research: Longer hair pulls the curls out to be straighter, thus Viking shall be it, it will be curly but not ugly curly, mroe like cute curly. ODIN GUIDE OUR SHIPS!

No, this would result in wavy hair, I can assure you you don`t want wavy hair.

Plus, long hair are annoying.

Hmm, well, vikings DID cut their hair, but roughly. They certainly didn't bother styling it.
