Lost Odyssey Disk 2 Broken

My brother got me a copy of Lost Odyssey second hand for some reason, so I played on it. When I got to Disk 2 the game wont read the disk. It has NO scratches or anything like that. I've been looking around other sites for FAQs but nothing has worked so far.

I have tried:

  • Installing it on to the hard drive (stops at 22%ish saying it cant read the disk)
  • Cleaning the disk (With my breath and a cloth, I'm waiting for a disk cleaner that I've bought from Amazon)
  • Rerunning disk 1 and following the steps again.
Anybody help? +Rep for anything useful.

EDIT: I read somewhere that someone boiled their disk for about 3 minutes and it started working again for them. Somebody later commented that freezing the disk works better because it isn't so "extreme." Should I give it a try?

Re: Lost Odyssey Disk 2 Broken

Or if you have some Chux Magic Eraser, toothpaste (car polisher works better but TP is more readily available in most homes) and an eggbeater you can buff the disk yourself.... works bloody fantasic... well did for me and most of my old disks but they had really visible scratches.

If nothing appears visually wrong with the disk do you have another 360 you could try installing it to (might be a problem with your laser reading the disk not the disk itself).

Oh and dont boil the disk whatever you do, it can warp it and do a fair amount of irreversable damage.

I dont have any of that stuff, and nah I dont. T'is a shame.

What about freezing the disk?

Honestly never heard of this one before (or the heating for that matter) but I wouldnt recommend any extreme temperatures personally, but I guess that freezing the disk might contract some of the parts and make the disk readable (really dont know) but it sounds hmmmm interesting to say the least.

Re: Lost Odyssey Disk 2 Broken

Aye but my point was it isn't just a Kill-Your-Equipment idea but yeah. I wish there was an easy way to fix a cd without having to do certain things like go out to the nearest game shop and get it cleaned.

In the future, games should be on some kind of USB thing so **** like that can't happen
-_-
I'm still mourning Monkey Hero, that game was great.

I've forgotten if a date has been confirmed yet

Can we get back to resurrecting my disk now? :(
