Manhunt 2 Denied UK Release

Seems Rockstars controversial title will never make it to UK shores as BBFC have refused to rate the game and denied access for it to be sold. People are guessing that the UK will only be the first in line to have the game banned from there as more and more regulators ban its sale in their countries.

I think a ban is stupid to be honest, will just make people import the game or pirate copy it and also games are no more violent than movies. We as over 18's should have the choice what we want to play and its the retailers faults for selling to minors and the parents who buy the games for their kids not the Developers of the games. Whats next? Ban gory movies or TV shows? Its just one big joke...

I am 14 and i buy m rated games. Its called knowing the right people. Drakan if man hunt 2 is on the 360 i will tell you how it is.

the notion of telling people which mediums are permitted to carry which content and what content is appropriate for public consumption and what isn't when the target audience are all adults is just ridiculous and completely flies in the face of the democratic concepts of freedom of speech and expression.

Yeah and its for reasons like that , that they get banned when some stupid kid gets to engrossed in a game he isnt legally allowed to play and goes and kills or injures someone, the kid gets off free because all media spotlight is slammed onto the game.

Which is dumb next thing you know someone is goona blame a tv show for killing his freind. Then they will blame a song cause it made them do drugs. I say grow up its a friggn game. I like games but i am not dumb egnouth to ruin my future.

Its because of people doing that and shifting the blame from their own actions onto games/movies/music and TV shows that they get targeted. If these things affect the people like that, they shouldnt have access to them anyway.

Tad silly, even if it is Manhunt. I've got little interest in most Rockstar games (except Bully), but, I mean...Come on. Blaming it on the games is what causes these problems, because you can do whatever the hell you want and get off scot free becomes "A GAME TURNED ME EVIL!"

Heh, a semi-local news source said that Halo 2 should be banned because it involved Satanic things. Uh...Okaaaaaay. Someone took the "Demon!" thing too literally...

Well, to be honest: If I recall correctly the different ratings on games, like movies, aren't actually that serious - like the age to drive, or drink.

Or that might just be our care-free Swedish attitude - here we see it more of a "suggestion" or "classification" of what the game contains.

If you wanna let your 10-years-old boy play Manhunt 2 you suck as a parent, but it is your choice. :lol:

I just think its stupid to outright ban something like this and totally disregard any of the public their rights to buy it. Those stupid people who buy games for their underage kids and moan when the kids copy it and then they blame the games are really the ones to blame. This is only the 2nd game ive ever known get banned here but i will never agree with banning titles like this as we arent all people who are affected by things we see in games/ on movies or hear in songs.

Damn i was looking forward too it. I liked the first manhunt. I hope microsoft makes manhunt 2.

I doubt they would touch it either after it being banned in UK and very few places stocking it in US. What would be the point in them paying Rockstar to make it if nowhere can sell it?

I'm not a big fan of Manhunt, but from what I understand that's just, well, crazy. And stupid. And not a good sign for any thing.
