Megadeth vs Metallica

I used to be a huge Metallica fan but i"ve been thinking dave mustaine wrote kill em all and ride the lightning and some of master of puppets. Metallica wrote and justice for all and black and load and reload and st. anger. Load and reload and st anger sucked. So dave mustaine contributed a lot to metallicas success. Megadeth is still alive and kicked and metallica not so much so whats your opnion?


Edit - There both thrash and both are good so there a ok in my book.

I couldn't honestly say. I don't usually listen to them, as the reason being that all the people around me listen to it and wear it out like faster than an undersized g-string on an extremely obese woman.

But all in all, I like Metallica more, but not by much.

Metallica was great before they started whining and getting greedy. Never been a huge Megadeath fan, so my conclusion is that:

Metallica > Megadeath

I don't know any Megadeath, but I like Enter Sandman and Nothing Else Matters so my decision is Metallica

I love metallica. Megadeth can't touch them and really. St. Anger is about the only bad album by Metallica. You can't compare early Metallica with new metallica. They have been through what 3 Base players.

Load and Re-Load are really not as good as there early stuff, but not terrible like St. Anger.

I like them both equally, new Metallica is quite poor though by their early high standards.

This is madness! This is metal blasphemy!

Metallica IS what made metal metal and will remain the God's of Metal long after they're gone from this earth.

Load and Reload aren't bad, they are great with awesome tracks like King Nothing, Until it Sleeps and The Memory Remains.

Metallica IS what made metal metal and will remain the God's of Metal long after they're gone from this earth.

Yeah they defined the genre and will forever be respected by me for that.

Damn straight. And while St Anger isn't one of their best albums, it aint no The Black Album or Master of Puppets, but considering it came out 4 years after their last album, it is a good thing to see that they are not quite ready to give up on their music just yet.

I still haven't seen them live, damn it.... Oh I wish I were a teenager during the 80's.... *sigh*

Also they are working on a new album if i heard correctly, not 100% on that yet though im going to have to look into that.

Scott and I said the same thing a while ago as we wished to see them Live too.

Metallica is the whole heavy metal genre, imo. They are actually what got me into that type of genre of music. Megadeth is great but, we wouldn't have them if it weren't for Metallica.

I like Metallica and Megadeath but Black Sabbath defined Metal in my book. Judas Priest also had a bit to do with the genre

Lol funny how i make a thread about metallica in it and i got tons of replys. Yet when i make poems i get barely any.


Edit - I would say i am in the middle i"ll wait till metallicas new cd if its as good as my inner metallica fan tells me i"ll cross the line. If it turns out to be a other load or reload or st.anger i am crossing the line to go on the megadeth side.


Edit 2 - old metallica > old megadeth new metallica < new megadeth.

The Black Album was much better than St. Anger IMO. St. Anger is the only Metallica Album I don't own. And I refuse to own it. It was garbage compared to anyother album they released.

Yeah, they're working on a new album at the moment, that's supposed to be due out this month (I hope).

I like both bands, but Metallica I like more. St. Anger was an alright album, but definitely not great. The only songs i like on there are "Sweet Amber", "The Unnamed Feeling", and the intro of "St. Anger". ... Honestly, Bob Rock is what made Metallica into what brought us St. Anger... (after all, he's the man behind Motley Crue).

Frantic-tic-tic-tic-tic-toc!... ugh..


But Metallica has a new producer now, Rick Rubin. The legendary producer who's known for turning bands that have gone downhill, and turning them back into what they once were. Their new album is apparently a mixture of their old 80's Thrash style with heavy riffs, which is good.
