Re: Money stuff

Yeah...still goading there. Might want to stop that now.

The sad truth right now is that NOBODY can get a job - not even cleaning toilets. There are very few industries left which are coping with the recession and all job vacancies are over-applied for.

I'm just so very very glad I don't need a job. Or have a mortgage. We'd be epically screwed over if that was the case.

Re: Money stuff

Yup, reporting that one too.

I... don't really know what a community care grant is

Why don't you need a job? Rob a bank? Wait that wouldn't work, because banks don't do anything these days.

Don't need a job because financially we're ok - most people are struggling just to pay the mortgage and because we don't have one, that's a huge chunk of money we don't have to find each month. I have a job, officially; I'm the company director of a charity which has no funds...no funds means no wages so I just say I'm unemployed because it amounts to the same thing effectively.

What Steve brings in as well as savings and what have you is more than enough to cover our needs. Our outgoings are marginal in comparison to a lot of families - we simply don't spend money unless it's essential.

Wow! My mom had the whole house repainted just because she had a coupon.

Re: Money stuff

Food, bills and the odd game. Those are our expenses. We don't have a car, we don't have TV, we don't get takeout and my kid doesn't require a ton of toys or expensive clothes.

Once the baby arrives, things will get pricey for a bit because babies are expensive but on the whole, I don't intend to spend a lot of money. Even our food bill is only about 70 pounds every couple of months...I guess we've just gotten used to not spending so much.

In case you haven't figured Urahara, I don;t like you, and I don't plan to listen to much that you say. I always call it England. I'm not British, because I'm not part scottish, irish or welsh. I'm english.
So in other words, gtfo.
You not liking me affects me..... how?

I don't care if you're Albanian. The recession is affecting pretty much the whole world, let alone Britain. Referring to Britain as England is just English ignorance, nothing more.

And for your information, England is a part of Great Britain so I am pretty darn positive that you are British ;)

/Rant

I won't be replying again, just thought I should let you know my thoughts because you seem so keen on submitting your own.

Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesus! I'm way too greedy for that lol

Re: Money stuff

LOL - yeah, I think 5 years of living on nothing made me get used to it. And Steve has always been careful with money so between us we manage to hardly spend a thing

Ok, I don't know if your boyfriend's circumstances will work for this but here's the link to Community Care Grants info: Community Care Grants

Could also have a look at other benefits/help he may be entitled to Benefits and Financial Support

That's it. You're poor. If you don't have TV, then you can't watch cool shows like Dirty Jobs or Adrenaline Rush Hour!

lol - we just don't have any interest in TV in our house, not really. Besides, who needs a titchy little TV screen for gaming when you can have our 120 inch projector screen instead? :D

We watch films and we game on our screen - if there's something on TV we might have desperately wanted to see, that's what iPlayers on the internet are for.

Re: Money stuff

What Urahara said.

And an iPlayer...you go onto a TV channel's website and they often let you watch missed episodes of stuff, things like that.
