Mothman Prophecies

Know of it, but I've never seen it before. I love a good horror though, so I'll check it out soon.
Watched it, I thought it was average.. it was just.. meeeeeh, and long scenes in between average "scary" scenes.. And didnt find it scary at all, surprisingly enough, but each to their own.

The proper environment setting is key to a good horror experience. Did you at least wait till dark and turn off all the lights to allow yourself to get immersed?

That isssss true, watched at day time, curtains shut, so tried to have minimum amount of light in the room, and watched it ith my very manly friend who screams like a girl, which is hillarryyymouse.. Haha

But still, didnt get to me, but im scared ****less of The Ring, OHMYGAWWWWDDDD, Never watching that again or the 2nd one, nightmares for so many months/years..

The Ring is just good for those cheap "jumps in your face" moments.

The Mothman Prophecies it nothing like that; it is about the haunting and eerie feeling through-out the entire movie. You never actually get to the see the Mothman, but you know he is out there. To me, that makes a movie much much more thrilling to watch. Like the original Alien movie. Until the very end, they are really sparse with actual sitings of the alien (besides the killshots).

I think I was just confused during the whole film so it neither scared me nor interested me. I'd prolly give it another go though; it's been a very long time since I last saw it.

Once I got home at like midnight and it was all dark and I was completely alone, and I couldn't sleep so I decided to watch a bit of TV (by this time it was like 1:30am).

So I turned on the TV.

The movie that was playing was The Ring.

You know that bit where she climbs out of the TV?

Yup. Didn't sleep that night at all...

This is true, the unseen and unknown has a much better impact than a 'jump moment" or the tacky blood 'n guts scenes that have become commonplace in today's horror flicks.

Yeah I do liket he unseen/unknown style of movies, but the thing is, the Mothman wasen't scary at all, he just reminded me of "Final destination" type of thing..

SPOILER

The part in the movie that gave me fright was when he was in bed and the his wife popped up next to him, haha, gave me a shock, but not scary..

I enjoyed this movie, but it's not scary. Not even creepy. It's not even a total mindf*cker either. Just an average mystery/thriller.

Yeah, this movie was not scary at all, nor creepy (and I'm a godamn pussy). I like horrors that deal with the unknown and carry a very eerie tone/atmosphere, but this wasn't one of them.. It felt more like a psychological mystery film. Wasn't a bad film, but when it comes to horror this was really disappointing.
