Necro Posting?

Sorry, this doesn't really fit in the Fable 2 game help section, but I couldn't find it in the forum rules and this is the help section. I was wondering what necro posting was. I was accused of doing it and I don't know what I did wrong. I just don't want to do it again. Thanks.^_^

no clue. i just checked the rules and i dont see anything u did against those rules in ur posts and theres nothing bout necro posting.

ya ya i got it. i sent u one on XBL too.

I checked the post and i dont see anything wrong with it, just some1 participating in a thread right? dont take it personally somtimes Daemon talks out of his ass:P ull get used to it

Daemon knows what he's talking about. You, on the other hand, most certainly don't.

Necroposting is posting in an old thread. It's extremely annoying because the discussion of the thread is already over. While there is no set rule on it in the rules section as of right now (not sure why that is, could a staff member shed some light on that?), it is an unwritten rule that we all follow here. If you have something you want discussed or answered, search for a thread about that particular topic first. If there isn't one, start one.

If a staff member could move this thread, that'd be very helpful.

^u left out the part when I say "sometimes" he talks out of his ass. Obviously I don't kno wat I'm talking bout because I stated that I had no clue in an earlier post. I was just letting him know that it could just be another one of Daemon's comments. Thank u for explaining wat it was by the way. No need to get ****y necromancer

Ok, ok - let's not start fighting with our handbags ladies...too early in the morning for me to be doing with all that nonsense.

It's more of a common sense thing to not revive a topic which is months and months old - if you find a topic which grabs your interest but is over, say, three months old then perhaps consider making your own topic on the subject. If the thread you find does not answer your questions then also perhaps consider creating one of your own.

A thread which might help with this topic is one Albion Knight made some time ago: What to do when you're new

Necromancy: The magical practice of raising the dead, be it physically or spiritually.

Thread Necromancy, or Necro Posting, is replying to a "dead thread"(a very old thread where months, even years, have passed since the last reply was posted) and by doing so bringing it up to the top of the "Get New Posts"-list as well as the thread listing for the sub-forum that the thread originally was created in.

The only exception to this is stickied threads, since they are always on top anyway.

Thanks everyone for letting me know what I did wrong, I won't do it again. And I agree with Angel, let's not fight about this.

i'm not staff but i can tell you why...
Steve shortened the rule list because he felt it was too long and intimidating.
someone please correct me if i'm wrong.
