Need xbox help!

Ok my xbox 360 will not read any games. At first I thought maybe it the disk was damaged so I got it cleaned. Still wont play, so I tried other disks, none them work, is my xbox dead?

seriously, I have never heard of something like that. Try calling a help hotline or looking for answers on the interwebs

This happened to my first xbox just a few hours after I bought it. I took it back and got a new one.

If old nintendo consoles have taught me anything, its if blowing on it and unplugging it doesn't work, its time to call in a professional.

I just found out my dad has a console cleaner, it cleans the thing used to read disks, Ima use that

on topic:
that sounds like a hardware problem, trying to fix it yourself will void your warranty and take away your safety net (the hotline).
just call 1-800-4MYXBOX, talk to the indian people, send it in for repair...that is assuming you bought it within 3 years ago.

if it's out of the 3 year window, you may as well do it yourself.

Put it in the microwave.

You may hear a loud pop, followed by a large bang, then maybe a few more large bangs, and then a broken microwave.

My friend had a problem like that. He got very mad and ripped the disc drive out. Surprisingly enough he stuck it back in after the "oh ****..." moment and it worked. :lol:

Don't try it though. In the end he had to send it in. Usually a disc drive problem.

Thats simmilar to what happened to my first gen xbox. The disc try wouldnt open unless there was already a disc in it. And after opening it, it would want to close, so I had to hold it open while I swaped games. If I forgot or screwed up and it closed with no disc in it, it was a bitch to open again. I had to hold the open button down and forcibly pull the tray open. After I got my 360, I gave my xbox away to my cousin, whos friend broke it by ripping the disc tray out with a screwdriver.

Does it give you an error or anything? Better to check sites for advice and if you do need it repaired to do it online. Calling the helpline will just leave you frustrated and take an age.
