I want a magical staff...... deadly and made of wood unlike that stupid stick on the first fable.

What if you can get so powerful that you can wield a giant fricking log on your shoulder that can crush an enemy in one hit if you're accurate enough. For people who aren't barbarian lumberjacks though, like me, would favor the magical staff you speak of. You could channel your power through the staff and do melee/magic combos to double the damage.

I would like to start out with maybe somthing like a metal pipe, since you will probably be in a somewhat big city and it will be 500 years after TLC

that would be cool to start out wth a pipe in stead of a stick becouse a metal pipe would hurt alot more than a stick.

What if you could make your weapon up from nothing in the start (a metal pipe, as said before, a wooden hilt, a few sharp edges, stuff just laying around, etc.) and as you level, build on a cooler hilt or a sharper blade. Just an idea. In truth, I very much so hope this does not make the game, but hey- someone's got to post something.

ahhhhhh I like the idea of picking up chunks like in my Trophies, items, and clothing of doom thread. Iron chunks, yew chunks, go to a blacksmith and have him Make me a nice weapon.

As for the drunkenness (forgive me if that isn't a word), I feel it should alter vision more. I kept walking straight if I held straight. Let the character swerve...

And for the fighting system. Hand to hand is something very hard to capture. In real life, you can do whatever you want. However, in videogames, you have to program each and every little thing. There isn't really an effective way to make scripted events (snapping a neck or slamming on down on the table) without taking a lot of time. So Lionhead comes to a decision. Focus on perfecting melee, an easier thing to make, and release the game sooner, or perfect both styles of fighting and delay it?

My idea on melee attacks is that it should take an approach that many games take with melee. In say... Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, if you move backwards while holding down the attack button, you prepare a stab. Sideways you got the slash, and forwards the chop. Oblivion also took this way of combat. This is very good, because the battles will vary, and you can do the attack you want.

My Hand to Hand Control System.

Left+Attack= Left Hook
Right+Attack=Right Hook
Back+Attack=Uppercut
Forward+Attack=Jab

Also if you hold down the button for a short time it should power up the punch. (But if held down too long the punch loses power. In real life, if you cock back the punch too long you lost momentum). This should fix the 10 dmg a shot error.

I would like to see more of a Metal Gear Solid approach to hand to hand combat, like being able to hold somebody hostage. Dragging them around with a sword/gun to their throat and backing away as everybody makes sure to keep their distance.

Interesting, id like a type of system like this to along with type of grapple system to throw people any direction etc.

Id also like a tekken system for the hand to hand matches at night no mor only fists and simple kicks i want holds elbows knees even headbutts

thanks, I think all around though the hand to hand combat just needs to be more interactive with a variety of moves. It'd make the fist fighters guild more than just seeing who can land more punches. I also liked the fighting system in "the warriors" where you can pin them down on the ground and start beating their face in.

I like the idea of more possibilities in hand to hand combat, like perhaps the ability to have attacks that can paralyze or disarm opponents (obivion-esque) with attacks if you're good enough. Maybe for added realism, when you punch someone with heavy, tough armor on when you aren't wearing tough armor as well, you recoil or have a brief period where you can't use hand-to-hand.
